I think he subbed Fernandes because after Porro went off he kept dropping outside the block to receive the ball rather than making forward runs like earlier in the game. Still a baffling substitution though even if Fernandes wasnt playing well in the 10. Kudus was hopeless there.

Tonali played a great ball through to Robertson to open Villa up. He had a few passes that were quite similar. I don’t remember Fernandes playing passes like this

100%. Can't disagree with a word. Tonali was brought to replace Bentancur, but his form has made him undropable. However I would not be surprised if you see Bergvall in the pivot at Utd with one of them.
