On April 28, 2026, U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Blythe Station, in coordination with federal, state, and local partners, conducted a traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of two men: a naturalized U.S. citizen from Mexico and a Venezuelan national who had been paroled into the United States in 2023. A DHS official tells Camilo Montoya-Galvez there are now roughly 800 Customs and Border Protection agents in the Minneapolis region. That's on top of more than 2,000 ICE agents and officers deployed to the area to oversee immigration arrests and investigations into alleged fraud.
