Dead Milkmen dont get anywhere enough credit for being the pioneers of Pop-Punk, paving the way for Green Day & most of what most people think “punk” is! Definitely one of the most important bands!

Another fine example of how punk was so inclusive in the day. Minutemen, Cramps, Dead Milkmen, Bad Brains, would have been a hell of a show.

@JustinBrannan This was playing at a local bookshop and when I said to the young person working there “oh cool, the dead milkmen” she looked at me confused and was like “I don’t know. It’s the algorithm.” Feeling old.

@SurfThrash Son, back in my day, we didn't have the "related artists" algorithm. We had to read through the "Thank You" lists and liner notes of our favorite bands to find out about other bands. Then we walked to school barefoot, backward, and uphill, in the snow, 6 miles there and back.

In 2004, I got to play with the Milkmen as one of the starting bands at the Trocadero in Philly. The Milkmen organized a benefit concert in memory of David Blood and asked if we could reunite our band, Van Gogh’s Ear. It was an utterly amazing night of philly punk!! 🤙🤙
