Having covered my trip personally, I had the pleasure of being an invited guest of FIFA. Notably, Jamaica is part of a bid to co-host the 2031 FIFA Women’s World Cup. While it is still a bid, we must prepare ourselves and show that Jamaica is ready for opportunities of this scale. That is why we are moving ahead with plans to redevelop the National Stadium Complex and continue improving Kingston. I also want Jamaicans to know that the work we are doing to make our country safer is making a difference. As crime continues to decline, Jamaica is becoming a more attractive destination for international events, conferences and investment.

The National Call to Worship, Come Alive Concert, was a powerful evening of faith, fellowship and thanksgiving as Jamaicans gathered on the East Lawn in prayer and praise. As we celebrate Emancipation Day and continue our Independence celebrations, may we remain grateful for our blessings and committed to building a stronger Jamaica. May God continue to bless Jamaica, land we love.
