Context: @SwapnikaNag1 and I had not written a line of production code till last year Growing from there to building a full-fledged SaaS has just been magical Inspired by OSS evangelists like @kiwicopple, @steventey, @peer_rich and @james406

Why hashdocs? DocSend is an incredibly useful tool But most teams who've used it had the same pain: 1⃣ Many basic features are gated by price tiers 2⃣ The tracking can be off (especially if someone leaves the doc open) 3⃣ The viewer UX is a bit clunky We fixed this 👇

✨Powerful link controls on all plans - Restrict access by email or domains - Restrict access with a password - Add watermarks - Enable / disable downloads Removing access is just a toggle away now!

✨Advanced engagement tracking - See when, and who visited your links - Page-wise views on where do viewers spend time - Compare how views change across document versions And most importantly, get accurate engagement info, as view duration is tracked only if the user is active

✨A sleek and secure document viewer - Prevent saving as images or printing - Smooth scrollable doc viewing experience (vs the full page-wise scroll) - Fully-customizable viewer branding (for enterprises) - Self-hosting options

We've tons of features in the pipeline, and would love for you to contribute - And if you have any feedback / suggestions / pain points, my DMs are open We plan to #buildinpublic - so if you're following this thread, hope our updates reach you

Weekly release notes for - (Took me ages to push this code courtesy of Alcaraz and Djokovic) 🔐 Added email validation to views (disposable emails like yopmail, or undeliverable emails are no longer accepted) 🌐Added geo-location (tracks viewer city, state and country). Thanks @vercel 🔗 Added blogs to website (checkout tips on building a great pitch deck) #buildinpublic

Learning that building distribution is way harder, and waaaaay more imp than product @SwapnikaNag1 and I are now learning SEO on weekends. Last weekend, added a Nextra blog (which is marvellous - And wrote some content on fundraising. Check it out! 👇
