Happens all the time... Residents on my estate years ago were offered grands to move out before the houses were boarded up. Then they all get bulldozed and replaced with newer builds, which are often poorly constructed and built from lower quality materials.

The problem goes back to the early 1990s, when a huge part of the military housing estate was sold to private firms. The government has just signed a deal to buy them back for £5.99 billion.

Its not right wing or left wing. Its a simple fact that all migrants are housed as policy. Priority housed. Prioritised over bits, whether they are veterans or other people struggling with private rental. That's just the facts.

This housing stock belongs to the MOD many have severe maintenance backlogs (such as damp, mold, and structural damage), properties undergoing modernization, and historical mismanaged leasing agreements that left thousands of units unlivable or caught in bureaucratic delays.

Perhaps you should ask the MoD, who owns the site, why the homes haven't been re-purposed now that RAF St Athan has closed. You chould also ask Welsh Government (27 years of left-wing control) why they haven't pressurised the MoD to get these homes into beneficial occupation?

Let me unpack this absolute belter of a post. St Athan is very much still in use. Some housing is still being used to house by the MOD to house civvy staff and SF / SFS serving members. Yes they moved some of the RAF fairies to another base. After that they let a load of Afghan refugees live there for a bit an guess what they did….. you got it FUBAR’d the properties they were in….. probably the ones you see in your amazzzing video. Now they’ve all got to be renovated so they are doing the whole lot. Try harder.
