Why to vote for the first female president Kamala Harris: 9 areas where women excel in leadership: - Empathy: Women tend to be more attuned to the emotions and needs of their team, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. - Collaboration: Women often excel at building consensus and encouraging teamwork, creating a collaborative work culture. - Communication: Women typically have strong interpersonal communication skills, which help in resolving conflicts and ensuring clarity in expectations. - Emotional Intelligence: Women are often better at recognizing and managing both their own emotions and those of others, leading to healthier workplace dynamics. - Adaptability: Women frequently demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in the face of change, allowing them to navigate complex situations effectively. - Attention to Detail: Women often have a keen eye for detail, ensuring that projects are completed to a high standard. - Mentorship: Women often excel at nurturing talent and providing mentorship, which helps in the development and retention of employees. - Patience and Persistence: Women often show patience and persistence, which are crucial for long-term success and achieving goals in the face of obstacles. - Holistic Thinking: Women are often skilled at considering the broader impact of decisions, integrating various perspectives to make well-rounded choices. Men not confident in their own abilities are the ones who fear strong women. Men who call other men “gay” for respecting powerful women are usually unsure of their own sexuality (nothing wrong with that) or believe that they are better than women.

OAU transport system was near perfect, adequate buses and bikes, we rarely experienced queues until the First Lady came and decided she didn’t like the ease of transportation and introduced “change” by donating CNG buses. The school management in turn banned all motorcycles and commercial buses on campus and subjected over 30,000 students to just about 50 buses and a few tricycles. OAU has one of the largest land masses of any Nigerian university, yet students are now stranded daily. This is a Monday morning where students are supposed to rush for class, but they are stuck at the campus gate because of the inefficiency of the CNG buses. Students are struggling to go to class in the morning and in the evenings to even get back to their hostels. Students staying off campus now spend almost double to get to campus, all alternative transport means have been removed The management have cars to bypass all of this, but majority of students do not. Yet they released statements talking about how the buses will “ease transportation” and even implied students appreciate the system. Meanwhile, students are trekking, missing classes, and spending hours in queues. Let it be clear that students do not appreciate this system. It has made our lives harder, not better. What used to be a smooth system has now become a daily struggle. There are many pressing issues in this school, but they chose to dismantle a working transport system and replace it with hardship. We can no longer remain silent. Let the whole world know what OAU students are going through. Please if you come across this tweet, help us retweet it whether you are an OAU student or not We demand our towngboro buses and motorcycles back.

After 3 incredible years and 1.6M students later, my journey at ALX Africa has come to an end. It has been a life-changing experience, during which I made a lot of friends, worked with an incredibly dedicated team, and met so many talented students. A few numbers. We scaled from a few thousand students to 1.6M students on our platform. Students loved it and many of them took more than one course: 4M total! For the famous #ALX_SE Software engineering program, our SE students made an average of 2,000 commits and our checker reviewed 180M of their projects. That’s 2B lines of code… and that was before Claude Code. They actually wrote these themselves (unless Kimba said otherwise :) A big thank you to all my SE team mates, I am so proud of what we have accomplished, and I will really miss you all. Thank you to Fred for the trust he put in me and always supporting my crazy new and disruptive ideas. Thank you to my students. It was an honor to work with you, watch you struggle but relentlessly move forward, no matter what, until you got this job. To those who are still struggling finding this job, keep pushing forward. Don’t let go. You got this. You all have worked so hard and I am so proud of you. You are the greatest thing I've ever been part of and I can't wait to see what impact you will have on the world. It’s your turn to shine now, and hopefully for some of you to give back to the community whenever you are in a position to. I hope you’ll keep sharing the good news with me when you get this internship, this job, or when you launch your company. These messages are everything to me. In any case, I’ll be watching you from afar, and you can count on me to continue answering all your LinkedIn and X messages. Can’t conclude without ALX Africa’s signature: continue to “Do Hard Things”. Remember who you are, where you are coming from, and where you set out to go. I’ll see you there soon. With love. You try to tell guys about this and they don’t understand. I have been the broke guy with women paying for everything for me. I have had women trying to move me into their place when I was in-debt and unemployed. We are talking very attractive women, with plenty of options with men who have jobs, houses, etc. Women are not attracted to money in and of itself. Yes, there are broke women who are desperate for a man who will pay their bills for them. But as soon as you hit middle class or higher, money becomes less and less of a concern to women. There are a lot of women out there who are not worried about money at all and are just looking for a guy they’re attracted to. By ‘attracted’, we’re not talking ‘Adonis-tier Chad’ (another widespread Internet rumor); instead, we’re talking: • Cool • Fun • Confident • Sexy • Social skills • Knows what he is ABOUT with a solid male FRAME A little ambition doesn’t hurt, either. No middle or upper class girl wants to date the guy who’s broke and is content to STAY broke. But if you’re down and out but with big dreams, and you’re working on them, that’ll sweep a lot of women right up. Then instead of going for a guy who’s a ‘sure thing’, they get to bet on an up-and-comer. Money’s great to have if you have it. But there are a lot of dudes with money who do not have women. There are a lot of dudes who have women who do not have money. Money ≠ women. It is just a nice tool for making life easier.

Just because your baby’s eyes are open doesn’t necessarily mean they’re awake. And the same holds true in reverse. Weird, right? During active (or REM) sleep it’s not uncommon for your baby to open their eyes for brief periods, to make noises, and to move their body actively. The (open eyes) phenomenon, known as psychological lagophthalmos, is common in newborns and may be attributable in part to immaturity of their central nervous system. The important thing here is not to be too quick to assume your little one has finished sleeping just because their eyes open. This video is a great example. Baby’s eyes are partially open, but he is in the midst active sleep (which comprises half or more of each newborn sleep cycle). Likewise, there are situations where your child may appear to be asleep, but isn’t. Particularly in bright, noisy, or otherwise overstimulating environments your child may feign sleep (when they are feeling overwhelmed) as a sort of defense mechanism. This is called habituation. And while it may look like sleep it does not provide the same restorative benefits - and often concludes with prolonged periods of crying as a sort of stress relief. Long story short, you can’t always judge your baby’s level of alertness from their eyes alone - so be sensitive and observant in both circumstances. (And if you suspect your baby is habituating due to overstimulation, try to get them to an environment better suited to their needs.) This little one was shared to TT by laura.sunday.
