Origins of Purple Rain, Purple Rain' was originally written as a country song, and was intended to be a collaboration with Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks. According to Nicks, she received a 10-minute instrumental version of the song from Prince, with a request to write the lyrics, but she felt overwhelmed by the task. She later said: "I listened to it and I just got scared. I called him back and said, 'I can't do it. I wish I could. It's too much for me.'" Prince then asked his backing band to try the song: "I want to try something before we go home. It's mellow." According to Lisa Coleman, Prince changed the song dramatically after Wendy Melvoin started playing the guitar to accompany the song: "He was excited to hear it voiced differently. It took it out of that country feeling. "Then we all started playing it a bit harder and taking it more seriously. We played it for six hours straight and by the end of that day we had it mostly written and arranged." Prince's explanation on the meaning of 'Purple Rain': "When there's blood in the sky – red and blue = purple... purple rain pertains to the end of the world and being with the one you love and letting your faith/god guide you through the purple rain." After recording the song, Prince phoned Journey member Jonathan Cain, to ask him to listen to it. Prince was concerned that it might be too similar to Journey's 'Faithfully', a song composed by Cain which had recently been in the US charts. However, Cain reassured Prince by saying that the songs only shared the same four chords. "I thought it was an amazing tune," Cain said. "I told him, 'Man, I'm just super-flattered that you even called. It shows you're that classy of a guy. Good luck with the song. I know it's gonna be a hit.'" Ladies and gentlemen, Prince performing a special and an absolute classic song, Purple Rain, live at Paisley Park, in 1999.

🐧: I really like this song 🐢: He likes it, he likes it 🐧: Brianstorm 🐢: Brianstorm yes. Honestly, you can just be direct. The reason you wanted to perform "Brianstorm" is because you want to pitch an idea to P'Tha, asking if our next song can be like this, right? 🐢: You want to pitch to P'Tha? 🐧: Can we? 🤩 🐻: Everyone is already giving in to Gawin's wishes here 🐻: Maybe we are indulging Nong Gawin ☺️ 🐧: He said okay 😆 🗣️: CHAIIIIIII 🐢: Really, okay? 🐢: Can we release the next song next month, everyone? 🐢: And can Joss be in the MV too? 🦁: Seriously asking... Why did Joss choose those two songs earlier? 🐻: For the song... I felt like I wanted this part to be an emotional stage. 🐻: The song "Tur" (You) is one that makes you think of someone. Especially the song "Kor Tot" (Sorry) that Gun sang... 🐻: Back during Boys Don't Cry project, right? I really liked Krist's song. When I saw Krist perform it, I felt it really connected with me. I've experienced loss too, my grandparents, things like that. So it’s the very first song that comes to mind when I want a sad and nostalgic emotion. So it ended up being these two songs… 🐻: They fit well together. 🐢: The mood fits together nicely. 🐻: Yes. But I also believe everyone was still deep in their feelings with the sad song, and then cut… suddenly it's "Brianstorm" 🐢: Yeah, how is that emotional? 🐻: Well, that was just to please Gawin, wasn't it 😚☺️ 🐻: Uh, so what kind of emotion is it? 🐧: Driving life forward with... emotion 😆 🐧: Let's be clear, I just felt like... my heart wanted this song. It's an emotion too, it's emotional as well… 🐢: …but it can be a fun and exciting kind of emotional 🐻: But that's the thing. Since his heart follows his emotions, my heart has to follow his ☺️🙂‍↕️ 🐻: So it ended up being this song to switch up the mood a bit… 🦁🐢: *run away :)))* 🐻: Calm down, calm down 😂 🐢: A question just popped into my head... are we even necessary here? 🐻: We are. We haven't even sung as a four-person group yet 😆 🐧: 🤭 #JossGawinConcert #JossGawin

#FallForYou_EMIBONNIE #FallForYouMV_EMIBONNIE #GMMTVLiveHouse 🎤: What was the story behind this song? How did it come to be? 🦊: The story? 🐰: What was it? 🦊: I'm a bit shy 😆 🎤: They're being shy again! 🐰: Do you want me to tell the story? 🦊: 😆 🎤: What's the story? 🦊: Okay, try telling it. 🐰: Well, at the beginning, we discussed it together. 🦊: We created a LINE group, "RISERxEMIBONNIE". 🎤: That's super cool! 🦊: It's a group that has P'Kangsom, the producers, and so on. 🐰: And we discussed what we wanted the concept of our first song to be. Whether we had anything in mind. So... P'Mi, why don't you tell it too? 🦊: So... 🐰: So... 🦊: They asked us if there were any words we wanted in the song, but I said, "If it's words, I might not be able to think of any. How abt I describe my feelings instead? How I feel abt Bonnie. 🐰: At first we set the topic, like... the two of us are different, but together we're like a full circle, like Yin and Yang meeting. And P'Mi shared how she feels into the LINE group, it was this long (gestures a very long msg). 🎤: Really? 🐰: Yeah, and everyone typed, "Wow, Bonnie looks super beautiful~" 🦊: 😆 (shy laughing) 🎤: Really? 🐰: Really. She said she likes me. 🦊: 😆 (shy laughing) 🎤: Am I still necessary? 😆 🐰: It was a message of love. 🦊: I was just sharing how I feel in case they could use it to write the song. 🐰: In front of like ten ppl in that LINE group. 🎤: And how did you feel when you saw P'Mi write that much? 🐰: I felt super beautiful, super beautiful 😌 🦊: Did you feel like you won? 😆 🎤: And were there any words in what you wrote that went into the song? 🦊: They might go into the other song too. 🦊: Oh! (collapses) 🐰: Nooo, it's nothing. 🦊: No, no! It's just a plan! That if it's not used in this song, then it'll be used for our next song! I used the wrong word just now and my life changed 😫 🐰: 🙈 🗣️: Cut! Cut! 🎤: Yeah, maybe we need to end this show. 🦊: (collapsed on the table) 🎤: She's already excused hersel– 🦊: No, really! My feelings can be in any song, I just told them first. I was afraid that they'd write a song, but it wouldn't be true to my feelings and I wouldn't like it. 🎤: And the song name is, "The closer we are, the closer I am". 🦊🐰: "The closer we are, the more I think" (Thai name of the song)! 🐰: It's a mess now 😆 🎤: This is "The more we speak, the worse it is" 😆 🎤: Is that your second song? "The more we speak, the worse it is". 🦊: Pls allow us to use your idea. Who knows. 🐰: No, it's that they used a part of it. 🦊: A part of the paragraph that I sent. 🐰: The used a part of it to develop this song, and they thought up some song titles and asked us which one we liked. 🦊: After I sent my message, Bonnie also sent one. 🐰: I sent one in return. 🎤: Was your message long, Bonnie? 🦊🐰: It was long 😆 🎤: It was long! So how do you feel? I really want to see that chat! Can you expose them? 🦊: Honestly, I was afraid they'd say that we didn't really participate, that we didn't help brainstorm, so I wanted to share and describe that if it's a song that's like this, that would be nice. 🐰: I felt pretty shy. 🎤: The song is really beautiful, I really have to compliment you.
