Debra was definitely done dirty in this situation. She’s the one that lost her job and is still barely acknowledged. It worked out for her in the end because she got masters in criminal justice. She seems at peace with where she is in life now

Austin fucked up. No doubt. But he owned up to his mistakes, was arrested and accepted the consequences. Debra forgave him and they are still friends to this day. People can change and learn from their mistakes.
