📺DEBUT: ‘Total Request Live’ hosted by Carson Daly premiered 28 years ago, September 14, 1998, on MTV

MTV should just air re-runs of TRL or any of their past programs like MTV Unplugged, Yo! MTV Raps, 120 Minutes, Headbangers Ball, Club MTV, Daria, etc

Actually played videos

I'm old. Got to see him at the Rockefeller tree lighting many years ago. Loved TRL!

@AndyJMacc “you’ve been getting on the web”

If you had to pick one GIF for TRL 💫

I loved TRL! I would come home after high school, vote on my favorite music, get mad that NSync or Britney Spears was number 1 again, but still have a good time watching Carson Daly.

A very young Carson Daly @CarlaWVTM13. I’d be curious as to what the number one song was that day?

Official beginning of the Millennial reign of terror

This kicked off the last good era of MTV.

i know i know urls, but since we gunna go retro this dude brought it back in the way we experienced it, which is worth a mention. Specially with this clip in context.

Show was great

Pandemonium would ensue…

Must watch tv for a few years

the best of times 🖤

Yuck.

I was there

I was about to have 21 shots that day and endure an extremely painful hangover the following day.
