John Diggins or JD as we all knew him - was a very dear friend of mine and had been since the early 1970’s. He made many of my most precious guitars. Sadly, he passed away last year which was devastating. Before his passing, John wrote a book about his journey to become a famous guitar luthier. His family have now published the book in celebration of his life and contribution to the history of music. Link in my bio! Tony

When a voter was NOT in the poll book, they proceeded to manually enter these into the electronic poll book where then they would come up on the screen." This manual intervention, without consistent verification, opens the door to massive fraud. "We as a poll challenger are supposed to verify the name [and] address on the ballot to the electronic poll book, and if it is not there, then it is supposed to be in a paper poll book." Yet, at no point were they "able to physically see the ballot and then see it in the electronic poll book." "Any time as a challenger I tried to look at the ballot and then try to verify it, I would get two or three of the poll workers literally screaming at me to get back six feet." This not only created a hostile environment but physically prevented close inspection. How many people running our elections are actually engaged in fraud? The number has got to be off the charts!

I just watched this video of a Nigerian sharing his review of a part in Femi Otedola’s book that he read. I love it as real Nigerians who have read the book are giving real reviews. After Femi Otedola published the book, he recruited influencers to create a fake and fictitious reality of the book to choke it down the throats of Nigerians. But as ordinary Nigerians bought and read it, they realized the book is a mere wealth fiction. As I had said, while we, as “ordinary Nigerians,” can pick a thing or two from the lives and experiences of personalities like Femi Otedola and Dangote, we can’t practically model our lives after them. Why? Our reality is entirely separate and contrasting to theirs. If you, as an ordinary Nigerian, need motivation, a drive, a source of wise mentorship, look for successful people who built from the standpoint of your reality - the people who had faced struggles typical or equal to yours but scaled through. But if you spend your penny to afford Femi’s book with a strong belief that it will give you real life guard to elevation, you would be confused and frustrated from the first line of chapter one. Your realities do not align. Hope this helps.✍️

What do you call the success of a self-published book written by an academic who was ousted from her job because of her Palestine advocacy? You call it collective success. Collective liberation. There is a very unique and distinct response I am seeing from people who attend our book-signing events and engage with us online. And that distinction is in the hope and feeling of victory that emanates from them. For far too long we have not only been silenced and our careers ruined, but we have seen our comrades arrested, charged, their freedoms and rights violated, all just for saying Israel should not be bombing, starving, sniping, burning alive in tents children, women, men - in Palestine. Lebanon, Iran - setting the entire region on fire to fulfill their colonial goals. And the fact this book says out loud all the things we are being told we will be villainised, criminalised, brutalised for saying, and the fact it has done so well (over 2000 copies sold in 2 months) is an act of liberation, not just for me, and my co-author Dr. Ardavan Eizadirad (he/him), but for everyone. It’s already a month since I was featured on TVC News's Wake Up Nigeria, where my book Esu is Not Satan was reviewed. The conversation went beyond book chat because it was a moment for me to highlight some other chapters of my work on Ifa system, the Ibi and Ire worldview, the concept of Ebo, and the larger framework of the Yoruba Indigenous Knowledge System. Truly, these are cultural concepts. But to our being, they are also living philosophies that shape how we understand existence, balance, and responsibility.
