Terrified family members crossed a yellow police line to check on their loved ones and speak with police. Witnesses report that ICE responded by using pepper spray, tear gas, and pepper bullets, and even fired tear gas canisters directly at people’s heads. After this violent escalation, community members began protesting in the road, preventing ICE vehicles from leaving.
