December 13, 1998 The #Falcons defeat the Saints in New Orleans, 27-17, to draw within a game of clinching their first NFC West title in 18 years. After having felt ill during the game, Atlanta head coach Dan Reeves undergoes emergency quadruple bypass surgery the following day. Reeves' recovery serves as a source of inspiration for the #DirtyBirds, who would clinch the division the next week. Coach Reeves would return to the sideline four weeks later for the playoffs, ultimately leading the Falcons to their first-ever NFC title.
