I think it's pretty obvious that Gravenberch is not a bad player. He just doesn't thrive playing as a lone 6. He doesn't have the ability to control the game from deep. He is better playing as a B2B Midfielder and when attacking those half spaces. In his last two games for Netherlands that's what he has been doing and he has really thrived. 🎥 From: 🎴

Ermin Mahmic is a very exciting, young attacking player - but he is not the “box-to-box midfield player with real physicality” that Martin O’Neill spoke of. Mahmic is dynamic, a good dribbler and comes alive in the final third. He shoots a LOT, good ball-striker but decision making not quite there yet. He’s an attacking midfielder who really only cares about going forward, I don’t think he’ll do much tracking back or defensive work for you. I like his profile, don’t think he’s the finished article yet but I think this profile of player is more suitable for a Celtic midfielder than the ‘Engels’ type player. However he is not the profile of player Martin O’Neill specifically spoke about. If we do want a “box-to-box” player, then from this region I’d be looking at Akram Bouras from Levski Sofia or Anzor Mekvabishvili from Universitatea Craiova.
