😅👍👍

Deepseek will answer questions that western models will censor. I care more about that than chinese censor topics. I care less about how 'china isn't free' for models I use, to how the west isn't free.

At least with open weights local models we have the power to teach it anything

That is of course the security layer kicking in and then self-censoring the answer. OpenAI, Google etc. all that their own security layers, which work in identical way (although the content which triggers the security layer varies by company) input --> LLM --> security layer --> output The security layer kicks in when the output contains "harmful" content or forbidden string patterns. This is can annoying if the guardrails are excessive or the security layer does too many false positives. But if you run any DeepSeek variant locally, it of course doesn't come with the default security layer and I can confirm the training data has lot of stuff, which would be taboo in China.

Run it locally it'll answer. Is being censored on and web app.

Haha 😂 DeepSeek was like:

😁😁

I hear it will answer this if you run it locally
