Different observers can disagree about space and time without disagreeing about the laws of physics. In Minkowski spacetime, observers moving relative to one another use different space and time axes, connected by the Lorentz transformation. What remains unchanged is the spacetime interval and the structure of the light cone. Space and time coordinates depend on the observer, but the speed of light and the causal structure of spacetime do not.

Our nutrient-packed space food is coming back home! Samples from the BioNutrients-3 study will depart the International Space Station aboard NASA’s SpaceX CRS-33 mission and will soon be analyzed by the science team NASA Ames. Results from this study will help scientists develop approaches to produce on-demand nutrients needed for astronauts during deep space missions to the Moon and Mars. Learn more:

🛸Reports say GUR struck the Orenburg Helium Plant – the only facility in Russia producing a critical component for missiles, the space industry, and aviation. It is the sole helium producer in Russia and one of the largest in Europe, with an annual capacity to process around 15 billion cubic meters of natural gas. Helium is widely used in missile manufacturing, the space sector, and aviation.

Earth moves. We watch in awe. 🌍 Captured aboard the International Space Station, this timelapse shows our planet from 250 miles up. The International Space Station is more than a window seat. In microgravity, researchers study medicine, materials, climate, and life itself in ways we simply can’t on the ground.
