We can’t have anything.” A song you said you didn’t hear, an event you didn’t attend. You’re mad that non-Black people are appreciating it? So what would you rather? Beyoncé drops music reclaiming Black genres that were whitewashed: Black community: “She’s so performative. She only cares about money. She’s using the Black community to stay relevant. I’m not streaming that.” Non-Black person: “That album healed me. I learned so much history. I’m writing an essay about it.” Black community: “This isn’t for y’all. To kick off the summer, the Oasis team traveled from around the globe for our company retreat in Bled, Slovenia. The retreat served two purposes: 1⃣ To come together and envision the future of Oasis 🧠 2⃣ To reignite our team with the energy of community and a shared purpose 🤝 The retreat was more than just a meet-up; it was the first time many of us had the opportunity to connect in person. As a company that has always thrived in a remote working environment (championing autonomy, wellness, and global collaboration), we understand the value of face-to-face interaction and collective bonding. For three workshop-packed days, we navigated through intimate discussions, brainstorming sessions, and team-building activities focused on the future of Oasis. The cross-pollination of ideas from our diverse minds across Engineering, Business Development, Marketing, Community, Operations, and HR brought forth new solutions, initiatives, and ideas for Oasis, reinforcing our belief that community is the backbone of every great blockchain network.
