🇵🇰 PAKISTAN MILITARY IS TRYING TO TERRIFY IMRAN KHAN’S SISTERS INTO SILENCE Pakistan’s political crisis has reached a point where even Imran Khan’s sisters say the state is fabricating entire fake narratives to paint their family as traitors. Aleema Khan reacts to the military’s newest accusation: that Imran Khan’s movement is in “deep collusion with external actors.” To sell that story, she says the military’s spokesperson actually showed AI-generated fake videos claiming she and her sister were secretly asking India’s PM Modi to attack Pakistan, something she calls not just ridiculous, but dangerous. She explains that Imran Khan is a global figure with fans far beyond Pakistan, especially across cricket-playing countries like India and Australia. And that’s exactly why, according to her, the establishment is trying to twist foreign interest in him into a conspiracy. For Aleema, the real danger isn’t the bad AI, it’s that the military used those fakes publicly, knowing they were false, to push the idea that Imran Khan and his family are “colluding with India.” "They tried to prove we are anti-Pakistan by using an AI video claiming my sister asked PM Modi to attack Pakistan. There is a huge population beyond Pakistan’s borders that loves Imran Khan, and that worries them. Everyone already knew the videos were deep fakes, yet the military still used them on national TV. It’s irresponsible for a representative of the military to sit on TV and use fake videos to push this narrative." PTI, Aleema Khanum

🇵🇰 OPINION: THE DEEPFAKES TARGETING IMRAN KHAN’S SISTER A video has gone viral showing Aleema Khan supposedly calling Pakistan’s army chief a radical Islamist who wants war with India. There's only a tiny little problem... She never said it! The interview was real, but the viral clip was not. Sky News and Yalda Hakim confirmed it was a deepfake, crafted to look and sound real enough to fool millions. And that’s the problem. In a country where many people haven’t even heard of deepfakes, let alone know how to spot them, this isn’t just misinformation. It’s a tool for political manipulation. Aleema’s real interview had nothing to do with the military or India. She spoke emotionally about her brother’s treatment in prison, his declining health, and how cutting him off from lawyers and family is a way to silence 90 percent of the population that still supports him. But the fake clip flipped that narrative. It turned Imran Khan’s sister into an alleged traitor. Then the military ran with it in an official press conference, using it to feed a broader campaign that paints dissent as treason. This wasn’t just trolling. It was a strategic hit, aimed at making Imran Khan’s base question whether even his family stands with him. It wasn’t about provoking India. It was about poisoning Pakistan from within. Here’s what you should be asking: who has something to gain from that?
