🚨 More DeepSeek V4 Pro GA Leaks and it's looking seriously impressive. It also looks like DeepSeek may have heavily distilled from Fable 5 the coding style, iteration behavior, and overall output feel very similar. It was tested it on the same prompt used for Kimi K3 and GPT-5.6 Sol, and the result had strong scene composition, solid environmental detail, and surprisingly good design choices. Claude Fable 5 created this horror game with the same prompt we tested Fusion on. Do not fall for OpenRouters fraudulent marketing scheme. The capability of Fusion is NO WHERE close to that of Fable 5. Stringing together Opus 4.8, GPT 5.5, and DeepSeek V4 does not give you a better model. OpenRouter should be sued for false marketing.

DeepSeek v4 Flash (0731) vs Kimi K3 (10x more weights) i gave both the exact same prompt, in the exact same harness: one-shot a luxury product landing page ($10,000 "ARC-01" concept object). results in the video. my take: Kimi K3: wins on polish. Better typography hierarchy, more confident use of negative space, and the hero product shot integration is genuinely beautiful DeepSeek v4 Flash: very close. The structure is right, the copy is right, the layout logic is right. It loses on finish, not on fundamentals. a 10x smaller model getting ~90% of the way there. a year ago this gap would have been embarrassing. mind you it cost less than $0.10 for 6 build iterations and 8 QA passes. small models aren't "good for their size" anymore. they're just good.

GPT-5.6 vs GPT-5.5 on my custom spaceship prompt. I gave both models the exact same custom prompt. This is also the same prompt I previously gave to Fable 5. For context, GPT-5.6 Pro worked for 87 minutes, while GPT-5.5 Extra High worked for 34 minutes and 42 seconds. As I’ve said before, based on great authority GPT-5.6 will be an incremental/soldi improvement over GPT-5.5, not a “Fable killer.” My rough expectation has been that it would trade blows with Fable 5 on some benchmarks, maybe win around half depending on the category, but not clearly surpass it overall. And again fable five will have bigger model smell, but this was expected. After testing this coding output, that view feels pretty accurate. GPT-5.6 is clearly better than GPT-5.5 in several visual areas. The lighting, shading, chairs, object details, and exterior of the spaceship looked noticeably stronger. The scene was also easier to test. I do want to give GPT-5.5 credit though. It built out the rooms much much better and the planets looked better than GPT-5.6’s. It was also interesting that both GPT-5.5 and GPT-5.6 produced better-looking planets than Fable 5 in this specific test. The downside with GPT-5.5 was stability. The game was much glitchier and harder to test compared to GPT-5.6. But when it comes to the core of the demo, which is the spaceship itself, Fable 5 still beat both models pretty comfortably. GPT-5.6 is impressive, but from this test, it looks exactly like what I expected which was a meaningful incremental improvement over GPT-5.5, at least for indie game demos, but not something that replaces Fable 5. I didn't expect DeepSeek v4 PRO (not Flash) to run well on the Mac Studio M3 Ultra with 512GB of RAM. This is 2 bit quantized with the same DwarfStar recipe used for Flash. 433GB GGUF file. 130 t/s prefill, 13 t/s generation. Prefill in the video is low because small prompt.

GPT-5.6 Sol is a major leap from 5.5. Fable 5 still wins on spacing, balance, and first-pass polish. For me, Sol comes close at half the cost.

GLM-5.2 is legit. It produces games easily and as accurately as SOTA closed-source models. My GLM 5.2 versus Fable 5 comparison is close, but I prefer Fable 5 just a little. Both games are equal in nearly all respects, but Fable 5 produced slightly better graphics and more challenging gameplay. Both needed 2 shots to get all the prompt instructions correct.

Before Claude Fable 5 got banned, I turned all my fine-tuning research and experiments into a product: (A CLI for data generation to fine-tune AI models). Finetuner uses Codex 5.5 or Opus 4.8 as the orchestrator and Chinese models (DeepSeek v4 Pro, Kimi K2.7, MiMo v2.5, etc.) to generate dataset rows. This system is unique because these are not Python-script-paraphrased datasets. Each and every row is handcrafted by Chinese models based on the orchestrator model's instructions. Now anyone can generate datasets to fine-tune small language models (1B to 30B models). I achieved 10x lower costs and 5x better dataset quality. Releasing the product in a few days. (I'll open-source the skills.)
