Once I returned to camp 2, my health took a dip - I seemed to pick up a chest infection, so the decision was made to get me back to Kathmandu for immediate treatment - not the way I wanted to leave the mountain or my team That being said, very few people get the opportunity to fly in a helicopter over the #Khumbu icefall - this really gives you the incredible scale of the icefall and #Everest Base Camp Thanks to everyone for your brilliant support - I didn’t bring home the bacon, and I am still processing the profound disappointment, but I am proud of our team and I am proud of the decisions I made on the mountain. I came back in (mostly) good health and I still have all of my fingers/toes 3/3

Health of Animals Act — Section 48(2) “Treatment” 🔗 “The Minister may treat any animal… or require its owner… to treat it… where the Minister considers that the treatment will be effective in eliminating or preventing the spread of the disease…” This provides authority for a treatment and containment protocol — including quarantine, testing, vaccination, or biocontainment — instead of culling, if it prevents the spread. Health of Animals Regulations — Section 5(1)(a) Inspector Discretion 🔗 A veterinary inspector may order an exposed or suspect animal “to quarantine, keep separate or treat the animal,” rather than destroy it. This is textbook discretion: if risk can be managed through separation and treatment, destruction is not the only option. Health of Animals Act — Section 13(2)(a) “Reserve for Experimentation” 🔗 “The Minister may reserve for experimentation an animal required to be destroyed under this Act…” Even if destruction is ordered, the Minister can reserve animals for controlled research. You will always hear from friends/family/relatives that there is this XYZ person who cures XYZ health problem with simple medications or some secret medicine which they provide since generations and in majority cases they are even free or charge nominal for the treatment. As usual they are branded as quacks, but the truth is it helps millions of people who cannot afford costly medical care and or do not have access to such money or medical facilites. Do reply what such cures for various health issues you know about in your city/town/district.

The RESET Center has been open just over 24 hours, and already dozens of people using drugs in public have been brought off the streets. This is a new model that we are using in San Francisco to bring people on the streets into a health focused facility where they can have a chance to be connected to treatment. This center is making it easier for officers to get back on the beat while giving people a real opportunity for treatment. We’re also hearing reports that staff have connected people with case managers who had been trying to reach them. This is an important new tool to help keep our streets safe and clean.

I just signed SB 5557 to ensure pregnant individuals can access the full range of emergency medical care at hospitals across the state. This bill requires hospitals to provide an abortion when it's the necessary standard of care to protect the health or safety of a pregnant person. Although hospitals are currently required to follow similar federal rules, those rules could be challenged, putting these protections at risk. I just signed SB 5557 to ensure pregnant individuals can access the full range of emergency medical care at hospitals across the state. This bill requires hospitals to provide an abortion when it's the necessary standard of care to protect the health or safety of a pregnant person. Although hospitals are currently required to follow similar federal rules, those rules could be challenged, putting these protections at risk. This bill enshrines these protections in state law, to avoid future disruptions in emergency care for pregnant Washingtonians. Thank you to prime sponsor Sen.
