I don’t think Nappa truly realised just how heartless Vegeta was. Like yeah, wiping a city is easy, but to not give a shit about subordinates or one of the only other saiyans alive was a bit much for him to come to terms with

Genuinely killing off Nappa might be one of Toriyama's biggest missed opportunity in all of DB I'm not even kidding lmao There's SO much potential for his character as basically Vegeta's only real friend and caretaker and he just got killed to make Vegeta look scarier lol

The "as raditz part" also kinda seems like he's concerned about just how much higher in terms of power vegeta is, realising even another saiyans level is nothing to vegeta. Nappa knew that if all went wrong, vegeta would not hesitate to kill someone "useless" and he was right

The thing is, nappa was a proud Saiyan who GENUINELY cared about his subordinates and fellow Saiyans. Even though he was weak, when offered a wish that could be anything, his first thought WAS BRINGING RADITZ BACK! When Frieza and his goons insulted Vegeta he was ready to fight!
