"Defense Mission is boring"

Defense missions aren't a spectrum, they're a binary: It's either a geriatric 10 minutes with the gameplay of a clicker or the most hectic shitshow you've ever seen, with absolutely nothing in between !

If you're lucky defense mission seems dull and boring If not, you're forced to lock in Last time I was on defense mission squid, joined random just with 1 generator left, locked in and saved the mission Went to bugs hoping for easier time, got denfense mission again with bug breach near generator, forced to locked in and saved another mission again I just want to dive and chill

I can literally play these missions on d10 while playing l4d2 on my computer at the same time, just by looking over and throwing mines and sentries occasionally.

I wish I can be more creative with flanking. Also a boss should be the final wave because it always ends undramatically. I.e. if you are doing well, the last wave is always easy.

Not a single enemy is pushing you back, so Yeah, you got prove that it is in fact boring, flames and explosions dont make it fun, unless you are a gdiver, but in that case everything is fun i guess

Defense can look more cinematic then everything else

Yes, because you can overcome the entire challenge by the whole group just turret spamming and putting the controller down. This tactic is slightly less affective against squids.

You just need to play a difficult enough mission and things can go south pretty quickly.

I’d be a lot more impressed if you actually tried to make it fun by not using sentries. That’s what my buddies and me do to make it an actual challenge.

When are we going to be able to upgrade our sentries?

they are boring as shit and you just proved it. 2 sentries and the maxigun and orbital napalm. you are interacting the least you possibly can to complete the mission. not like they spawn enough enemies anymore to make the missions challenging or fun since they nerfed spawns

And then in the voteless, a stringray will help a lot to finish the mission faster.

Defense missions are the most fun imo. Thats where you get to get creative with strategems and fuck around. Occasionally will bust out the shovel and see what trenches are the most effective (deep trench at gate entrance with shallower trenches acting as a funnel)

Low-key this only applies to bots and the appropriators since everything else is a giga snooze fest

Base defense on bots is the peak of the mission type especially on cyborgs I’ve had some good moment on squids when I have only shitty teammates tho

Defensive mission below lvl8 are utterly boring.

You can make anything exciting if you take the wrong loadout. My oppo and I have two manned every defence mission on 10, and the enemy rarely gets to the first gates.

Not boring, stressful

There's something about the Appropriators that makes them particularly hard to stand your ground against them. I've never played a defense mission against Appropriators that wasn't a constant back-foot struggle.

I enjoy them. I will intentionally search for defence missions just to try out different weapons I rarely use. 🟢👍

Appropriators are the only SUB-faction that makes this game mode engaging beyond "drop sentries and scroll reels for 10 minutes"
