Defi is more than fine, it evolved incredibly thanks to all these event. I should look in to why defi-insurance protocols isn't a growing sector. I expect Tradfi servicing frameworks to cover that gap.

For you low attention span Mfers: Defi will be fine. - 500M DeFi hacks last month is very bad. Korean Hackers getting more sophisticated. This is a problem but one that can be solved. - All the benefits of defi are still there, 24/7 Finance, Global Finance has not changed. This will be hardened and the right teams will survive. - Don't forget, CeFi also went though this same thing (FTX hack) - Our Crypto Ideologies on Decentralization will now collide with reality and we'll see which ideas will actually survive and finally get answers. For example: - Arbitrum freezing 70M of impacted ETH from KelpDAO. The ideologies of if L2s are Ethereum or not Ethereum, are now becoming clear after colliding with reality (clearly not as ETH does not have a security council that can freeze assets like this). - Next interesting ideology test is with Bitcoin. Quantum threat is real. Will the core devs decide to freeze/burn Satoshi's wallets? As its untenable to allow funding to North Korea, 100B of bitcoin is way too much to go onto the market. In a way, these ideologies of decentralisation getting testing is the industry growing up.

this is not "the time for defi" this is a absolute nothing burger the ABSOLUTE worst case is like a 3-5% slash on some eth depositers on lending protocols its "only" a 300m hole with already 30k eth recovered defi has unironically gone through much worse than this
