Definitely more progress with a fully simulated tornado, this tornado wasn't placed there it emerged from the physics like a real life tornado would. Still need to work on lighting and shaders a bit and the overall dynamics of other types of set ups. But I'm proud of the result!

I'm gonna go ahead and release this here, as there seems to be some discourse since it was not well documented, as Ben McHone and I were the only chasers with a view of the Kankakee, IL Tornado as it morphed from a stout stovepipe to a large wedge. We were northbound on a road, looking south of the tornado, while most high-profile chasers were to the SW of the tornado at the time. This tornado turned into a rapidly widening tornado and was cloaked by RFD, moving directly into Aroma Park. This tornado spooked me to a degree as I was anticipating it to be moving more NE vs due East. Otherwise, this would have been a very close-range intercept. After this, the tornado became wrapped from our view before blasting east. I'll release a video of the Satellite with an evil El Reno-like Meso here later.

This guy is mesmerized by this tornado in Enid, Oklahoma. Pardon the language. Instead of driving away from it, he drives towards it just to get a better view. That’s the most tornado looking tornado I’ve seen. Storm chasers run around the Midwest all spring and summer trying to get this footage and this guy stumbled upon this like a side quest. They say if a tornado looks like it is standing still, it is coming right at you. Many people saying they would like to see a tornado live, just once in their life, up close and personal. Would you ever drive towards a tornado? Do you have that bucket list thrill of seeing one live near you?

On this day, three years ago, I intercepted this insane #tornado by drone and by rental car. This was a bit of a gamble on the forecast, since the moderate risk was to the north of southern Kansas, but I figured we would need the more westerly winds aloft to capitalize on the strong low-level shear. This supercell barely was able to remain surface based near the magic hour, but got over the hump and dropped a tornado quickly. This storm did not have a tornado warning at the time, but the local firefighters were watching the live stream here on Facebook and sounded the tornado sirens - likely saving countless lives. Never stop chasing

I'll say it until I'm blue in the face. Mobile/MFG'd homes are the most lethal shelter from a tornado, never mind one of serious strength. 65% of at-home tornado fatalities occur in them. 79% of <EF2 overall tornado fatalities occur in them.

Listen to the roar of this powerful EF5 tornado in Philadelphia, MS during the Super Outbreak of April 27, 2011. This tornado was one of the loudest I have heard next to the Bakersfield, MO tornado from Friday night. This tornado dug a trench in the clay that was two feet deep, and was one of the first tornadoes of the afternoon mode of the outbreak. The chaos inside of a tornado debris field is unfathomable. Some tornadoes can be so strong and sit in one spot for so long that they shred everything in their path into small pieces. In 2020 when I accidentally shot this tornado in slow-mo at 240 FPS, I originally was a little irritated with myself. However, it's the only 240 FPS piece of footage I have ever shot of a tornado, and it offers a unique and rare look into the chaos of a monster. So much going on inside of the debris field of this tornado near Scarth, MB. This tornado I call the Green Screen tornado. Many people accused me of using a green screen when shooting this video. These days I would be calling it the AI Tornado.

This man is in charge of the tornado alarm. Anytime there is a strong tornado approaching, it’s his job to drive up here and manually activate the tornado alarm. You would think they would invest in a safer method of warning people about the impending danger as so many things could go wrong with this method. What happens if he gets blocked or caught by the tornado on the way to sound the alarm. Shouldn’t the controls for this be indoors somewhere?

While the Wellfleet Nebraska tornado of 2025 had many extremely photogenic and memorable moments, perhaps my fondest memory was shortly after saving the semi-truck drivers life by stopping him from driving into the tornado, as the tornado nearly died but roared back to life. While not its most photogenic moment, I was yards away from the vortex, hearing its hiss as it spun the sand of the Nebraska sandhills into a slurry. Watching the video again, I feel like I'm back there, hunkered behind my vehicle to protect me from flying debris or hail. As the tornado came back to life I laughed because I had already spent such a long time dancing with this twister, I couldn't believe the show might go on. And it even got BETTER!
