Just imagine if Elon Musk ran his companies that way. He would never have built a near-trillion-dollar business. Elon only hires on excellence. People have to prove they are excellent and can actually do the job. He demands outstanding ability, not DEI.

Truth be told, that pilot was an example of “the Peter Principle” in action: I.E., “failing upwards.” The regional carrier he worked at prior to Atlas (CommutAir) cited him for poor sim performance, yet he was hired by Atlas anyway.
