Delete The YouVersion Bible App Now

It pulled up for me 🤷

Interesting.

Please stop spreading this lie. The search function doesn't work well in general, not specific to this verse. I removed a couple of words, and look, it's there. Not some grand conspiracy, just a low grade search feature.

I think the app is just imperfect, not that they intentionally are misleading.

This is mind blowing... I've been using the app to help me develop my relationship with God. Needless to say, I've already deleted it. Anyone know if there's any good replacement apps to use instead?

Logos

Deleted it 2 years ago for promoting The Passion "translation" Blue Letter Bible is it's replacement

Use Bible Hub... MUCH better and pretty much every single translation you could imagine.

I typed in “woman teach” and it came up. I’ve found the search feature clunky searching for other passages. The bottom line is all of these apps should only be used supplementally. Open the good book, friends.

I found it 🤷‍♂️

Works for me.

As an IT person, I can confidently tell you it's a search engine algorithm issue. Bible App is not trying to hide the passage. I'm a NASB guy, searching "woman teach" (just keywords), 1 Tim 2:12 was the first entry in the results. FWIW

Why are you guys lying

Worked here for me

It always had a bad search function, weird reason to delete a decent app.

It pulls up for mine

Not a problem for me

Very weird.

I’d still encourage people to buy physical bibles and not use the ones on their phones, since these can be easily manipulated. At the end of the day phones can be distracting (I should follow this advice as well 😂)

No problem here

The blue letter bible app is by far my favorite. Idk any others that let you do parallel versions, translations, languages etc.

Not a conspiracy lol. The youversion search feature has always been trash.

TBF, there could be an innocent tech related reason for this.

Fine here

Youversion has elected to protect malady’s honor over the word of God. Crazy.

It pulled it up for me, no problem.

Unfollow taco... got it!

I had to type in the full verse to get it to pull up.

Wouldn’t it be better to not run from the shadows and instead confront them directly for this error? I just did that and I comment their response

I think search in apps is harder than people may realize. Microsoft still struggles for search in my email.

I've noticed that with other subjects as well. Might just be broken search but concerning nonetheless

I got rid of it a few months ago. I had messaged them about the women pastors/heretics they put up (including Joyce Meyer), but never received a response. Had they just allowed the app to open on the Bible and not the other media I might have stayed.

Have it (may not after this) But I still recommend: Literal Word, Eduring Word, and Logos over the youversion app. Literal Word is outstanding for word search and has concordance usage. Enduring Word has outstanding commentary Logos is excellent for Hebrew and Greek referencing.

The literal word app is awesome

So if I only type “I do not permit a woman”, it comes up. But if I type in “I do not permit a women to teach”, I get the results you got.

Weird one because when I type - I do not permit women - it comes up with the correct Timothy reference but when I type - I do not permit women to teach - the same thing that you showed happened. Not sure what to make of that.

It works for me
