Democracy always chooses Barabas

The Founding Fathers of the U.S. feared mob rule if simple majority rule was followed for everything.

And ultimately crowns our Blessed Lord with the only crown they think is fit for Him

Because we cannot deal with our own sin.

That's probably the best argument against it.

In case nobody noticed, Barrabas in aramean is Bar-Abba, "son of the father". Then, when Pontius Pilate asks to choose between Bar-Abba and Jesus there's a hidden question (divine?) to choose between a son of a mortal father or a son of a heavenly Father.
