In case nobody noticed, Barrabas in aramean is Bar-Abba, "son of the father". Then, when Pontius Pilate asks to choose between Bar-Abba and Jesus there's a hidden question (divine?) to choose between a son of a mortal father or a son of a heavenly Father.
