We then rushed here directly to submit a memorandum to the Election Commission of India, but they rejected completely. We are responsible leaders of this country and elected representatives of the people. Just now, we received information that one or two leaders may be allowed to submit a memorandum to the office. However, we need a physical hearing before the Election Commission to present and argue our case. This is a clear-cut case of the murder of democracy. If even a small element of democracy remains in this country, the Election Commission must intervene in this matter without any delay. This is not reform, but an ideological coup replacing our democratic republic with a theocratic corporate state serving the powerful few. India yearns for the inclusive, just and democratic nation envisaged by our freedom fighters and constitution makers. That is what the Congress party stands and fights for.
