Ron DeSantis says the 2026 midterms are different from a typical election, warning voters that a swing toward Democrats would empower the DSA and its agenda: “Midterm elections are a little bit different than presidential elections. Usually, there’s a swing toward the party out of power, and part of it is just the psychology of voters. I mean, think about it. President Trump came in, and there were four years of an open border. Within one week, he fixed it. He ended the problem. The problem is, voters aren’t now going to rush out and vote Republican because President Trump closed the border in his first week in office. It’s just not the way it goes. There’s a different set of issues that comes into play. And I think this is a different midterm than the normal ones because, yes, there are swings back and forth.
