A lot of people pointed out that Trump sounded nervous or even scared last night. He certainly did. What I observed in myself was that this is the first time I am NOT scared of the Trump — at least not the version we saw speak on TV last night. I don’t think Democrats should be either. He didn’t just exaggerated how bad things were under Biden. He exaggerated how good things are under TRUMP. That’s a big mistake— and a dangerous one for Trump. His biggest advantage has always been that he seemed closer to everyday people, while Democrats sounded elite, abstract and disconnected. He further eroded that advantage in last night's speech. People don’t experience this economy the way he described it. They’re anxious. They’re worried. They see gun violence everywhere. They see ICE targeting workers and families instead of cartels — pushing entire communities into fear and retreat. That’s not what stability looks like to everyday people. If Trump and all Republicans talk like this next year, Democrats are going to win — and win big league — in the midterms.

But obviously they don’t have anything, and they’ve shown that for a long time now. I’m glad the Democrats are holding out for some of us—for the 20 million people who still need it and will only get insurance this way. It may be the best health care we can get, which is minimal at best. We take the scraps we’re given.
