After Epstein was arrested in 2019 (by Trump's FBI), the media started going after Trump's Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta. He was one of the people responsible for Epstein's sweetheart plea deal in 2008. Trump was asked about Acosta a few days after Epstein's arrest. He said that he didn't know much about the deal but that they would look into it, that he had met Acosta after he became President, and that he hadn't spoken to Epstein in approximately fifteen years. To show how ridiculous this has become, we have Democrat politicians and MSM stating as fact right now that Trump spent Thanksgiving in 2017 with Epstein. They are lying and they do not care. We have reached a new low right now in politics and in media. Shortly after, at Trump's behest, Acosta gave an hour long press conference to explain what happened with the plea deal. Acosta said repeatedly that he was very happy that Epstein was behind bars and would be spending the foreseeable future in prison. The media was not satisfied with Acosta's press conference so Trump and Acosta held a joint press conference to announce his resignation. At no point did Trump appear to be covering up anything with the case. He encouraged reporters to find out who went to the island with Epstein. It's also worth noting that at anytime during the Obama administration Epstein could have been arrested but he was not until Trump became President.
