HANDLE THE BALL AGAINST PRESSURE This clip is a masterclass in handling the ball against pressure. Most players think that the more moves they make, the better BallHandler they are. In reality, a players ability to Start-Go-Stop is what makes them productive. Do you have a starting move that can get you downhill. On that ‘go’ can you be in control under pressure. Then, do you have the ability to stop to create separation, and be comfortable in a face up so that you can make a decision and play.

I love this decision from Shedeur Sanders on the quick arrow throw to Dylan Sampson. Sanders recognizes that Carson Schwesinger is in man coverage and aligned in a tough spot to get to Sampson, who immediately releases to the right flat. Excellent pre-snap recognition, understanding, and execution from the quarterback. #Browns

Enjoy this journey while you can. There will be a day when you don’t have anyone to throw with or lift with or play pickup racquetball and then hit the sauna after with. There will be a day when you can’t immediately roll from your workout into breakfast/lunch/dinner with 8 of your best friends. There will be a day when disputes cannot be settled with a game of madden, 2K or the show. You will realize that showing up late for work pales in comparison to the fear you had about showing up late to the field or the weight room. You can say that you’ll still train hard, keep yourself in shape, hold YOURSELF accountable. It’s easy to say when you have a goal you’re working towards with a collective group. But when you don’t have that, damn it gets hard. So enjoy it. Take advantage of the time and the energy. For some guys it happens after 6 years of pro ball. For others it happens after 4 years of college. But it will leave you. Let me repeat that: IT WILL LEAVE YOU AND IT SUCKS WHEN IT DOES.

Stop passing to your teammate. Your teammate should always be positioned behind you, never parallel. Unless it’s a direct pass and you know the opponents have weak coverage, passing in solo queue 2v2s is the worst decision you can make. Here’s an example of a player making this common mistake. Only five, watch isn’t terrible lol. Here is the play with Abrams at the plate. This is a throw on the run for Chapman and I would have had this as a single and an error as this to me is above ordinary effort. The issue is the scorer might think CHAPMAN can make that play, but it’s ordinary effort for the average fielder at that position.

One silver-lining nugget to pass along on “film study”/reporting: Mike Vrabel called this the most instinctive play rookie OLB Gabe Jacas (50) has had since arriving in New England. Said Vrabel: “The unbalanced play in the red zone. They went with a speed break and a tackle over a little bunch into the boundary, and they tried to block down on him, and he just reacted across the guy's face and was able to make a tackle for just a few yard gain. “So I think that was probably the play that I was most pleased with and saying, ‘Hey, this is kind of, you are just out there playing. You are getting lined up. You are reacting. The guy blocks down on you and you cross his face and go make the tackle.’”

🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 BASKETBALL The hardest thing for American teams at any level of FIBA competition (besides maybe the rules, and ref disadvantage lol) is taking a set of individuals that haven’t played with eachother before and get them to play with shared energy, effort, and IQ This clip is showing where American Basketball is going, and if you want to be the best of the best - you have to learn how to play within simple offensive concepts - otherwise at some point (college, nba,etc) your individual talent will not be enough WHY THIS CLIP SHOWS SHARED IQ AND IS 🔥🔥 1. (The PG)is patient in the ball screen - simple concept with 2 players guarding him, he passes the ball to the open man (SIMPLE OFFENSIVE PRINCIPLE UNLOCKED) 2. (The Screener) recognizes the double and short rolls to space - but even bigger - they have the ability to PASS! Eyes up be a playmaker! 3. (receiver) recognizes the middle pass (we treat as a middle drive) and baseline cuts for an easy dunk - stars that can play in a team setting increase their winning impact (see Jalen Brunson in finals) If our best players have the ability to play like this in halfcourt settings, we are going to be just fine!!
