Except now it's not flat and you've got that lever arm on the side either digging into your leg or protruding through your pocket like a weird lump. They spent so much time critiquing the operation of the old designs they completely overlooked a key feature- they laid flat in the pocket.

Won't the orange ball on the striker arm get hot from being too close to the flame? A simple Angle change would fix that.

The classic Bic is ideal already. Actually, the one from the early 80s was ideal. Just difficult enough to dissuade small children from igniting it. And I don’t remember any women crying about the striker wheel abusing their thumbs.

This is a cool project. I feel somehow concealing the lever arm in the main body and being easily be able to access it would be cool also. That would make the device more sleek and appealing.

Make the lever drop further down before coming out towards the flame keep the ball at the end further away from the flame last longer no risk getting hot
