Meet Megan and Imaan, best known as LGBTQ+ activists and social media stars, Les Gawas. They went viral for unapologetically sharing their love story and how they met online as two queer, religious women - Megan is Christian and Imaan is Muslim, but also identifies as spiritual. Imaan, who’s 29, converted to Islam at a young age, having grown up in a multifaith and multicultural environment and she also identifies as pansexual, queer, lesbian and sapphic, sharing that she’s never had a “straight phase”. Charles Bassey is a professional scorer for sure - instant buckets inside the paint, especially as a roller. His defense is a whole other story. He can deter at the rim, but he's a pure drop-coverage guy and has very little ability to contest outside shots, esp 3-point shooters. He will literally just watch dudes shoot. To me, being able to guard outside the paint in today's NBA for a big is a basic necessity for any player who's going to be in rotation if you strive to be a great basketball team, and he doesn't cover it, which severely limits his potential as a defensive difference-maker. With Porzingis already being a cone more than half the time, we can expect Warriors defense to disappoint in the upcoming season if they're going to rely on Bassey to play a big role. Watch this short clip to see examples of what I saw from Bassey last season against a stretch player on the Clippers.

I believe that love is the greatest power there is to produce great results and that the most important decision you can make is who you choose to have loving relationships with. A good love partner, or better yet good love partners (your spouse, your family, your friends, and your business partners) who will care deeply about your wellbeing and help you through your downs as well as your ups is the best thing in life. By love, I mean caring about the person so that their being well feels like your wellbeing. If you have love, or at least empathy, you will have the foundation for harmony, peace, and prosperity—just as if you have hate, you will produce fighting, war, and destruction. All major religions are most fundamentally about how to produce harmony, peace, and prosperity through love and empathy – e.g. “do unto others as you would have them do onto you,” karma, etc. Psychologists have shown that loving communities lead to greater happiness, health, and effectiveness. Love is both joyous and functionally good because 1+1=3. To explain what I mean, a little bit of my help for you can make a big difference in your life just as a little bit of your help for me can make a big difference in my life, so us exchanging these gifts of help give us a lot more than we have alone—and it produces the joy of love on top of that. Conversely, 1-1= -3. Look at how hate in war is causing so much brutality and destruction. #love #relationships #valentinesday #principles

To make sure tonight's pottywalk 💩was safe, we had a friend come along and they took a video. There's a fair bit of fresh snow ❄️ but you can see how easily we get through on a well maintained sidewalk 🦼. And you can see what happens on the City of Edmonton's "safe and passable" walkway (spoiler alert: it hasn't actually been safe and passable for us in 2 weeks because of the base layer they left behind). Proper winter sidewalk maintenance keeps the community accessible. Note: both video clips were taken within seconds of one another. The amount of fresh snow was the same in both clips, the only difference is the first clip was a privately maintained sidewalk and properly cleared prior to tonight's snowfall. The city's section was very poorly cleared. AAC perhaps you can explain to the city that this is a barrier and according to their accessibility policy they are supposedly committed to identifying, preventing, and removing them. I've identified it so 1/3 of their job is done. 🙂 It's now been 14 days without proper access to the community. Video description for inclusivity: a rottweiler beside a power wheelchair roll easily along a sidewalk with about 2" of fresh snow. The next clip shows the wheelchair having to be rocked back and forth and side to side to get unstuck.

In celebration of Pride, we’re remembering those that came before. Our video scrapbook today is dedicated to the men of the war years. For thousands of gay men, World War II served as an unintentional, massive coming out experience. For the first time ever, this “great awakening” allowed homosexuals – from farms, ranches, and small towns across the country – to discover they were not alone. On their way to the front – in cities like New York, San Francisco, San Diego, and Los Angeles – they experienced their first contact with other men like themselves. Look at these faces. Romance couldn’t help but blossom. But our hearts break when we contemplate what the future held. Some, separated by the exigencies of war, never knew what happened to their newly discovered “friend”. Some returned home to the life of a deeply closeted “straight” man with a wife and children. Some didn’t return at all. But the very existence of these photos, likely hidden away for years, speaks to the love these men discovered. And perhaps never found again.🏳️‍🌈

You do not have a past-self living within your mind or body. You only exist in this moment at the age you currently are with all that you've lived through. No part of you is a child. You cannot heal the 6-year-old self who was neglected. That neglect was very real if that's something you experienced. The pain you feel from that neglect, it matters and it's real. But only the 25 or 32 or 45 or 56-year-old self staring back at you in the mirror can actually be healed. And she can't be healed by you. The self cannot be both the problem and the solution. It's actually a power outside of you that can heal you as you are right now. Namely, it is the God who created you, who alone has the power to heal you and to help you. And yes, He speaks to you as His daughter, no matter your age, but not as a toddler. He sees and cares about your childhood, but He communicates to you as the adult you are, not as the baby that you were. The Christian approach to trauma is compassion. Yes, absolutely. But it is also the difficult Holy Spirit empowered work of finding our worth in Christ and forgiving those who have wronged us. This is where true liberation is found. It is not found from self-discovery and self-love. No amount of speaking to your inner child, which doesn't actually exist, will lead you down a path of lasting fulfillment. Counseling, in light of that truth, can be helpful and healing for the Christian, but no borrowing of New Age psychology will do.

You do not have a past-self living within your mind or body. You only exist in this moment at the age you currently are with all that you've lived through. No part of you is a child. You cannot heal the 6-year-old self who was neglected. That neglect was very real if that's something you experienced. The pain you feel from that neglect, it matters and it's real. But only the 25 or 32 or 45 or 56-year-old self staring back at you in the mirror can actually be healed. And she can't be healed by you. The self cannot be both the problem and the solution. It's actually a power outside of you that can heal you as you are right now. Namely, it is the God who created you, who alone has the power to heal you and to help you. And yes, He speaks to you as His daughter, no matter your age, but not as a toddler. He sees and cares about your childhood, but He communicates to you as the adult you are, not as the baby that you were. The Christian approach to trauma is compassion. Yes, absolutely. But it is also the difficult Holy Spirit empowered work of finding our worth in Christ and forgiving those who have wronged us. This is where true liberation is found. It is not found from self-discovery and self-love. No amount of speaking to your inner child, which doesn't actually exist, will lead you down a path of lasting fulfillment. Counseling, in light of that truth, can be helpful and healing for the Christian, but no borrowing of New Age psychology will do.
