Despite prevailing narratives on marriage, we’re actually the least-divorced generation since the 1970s. (Even after you control for the decline in marriage.) Three reasons: 1) Marrying later. 2) Dating longer. 3) Marrying because you want to, not because it’s expected.

Did I miss anything? Also, I’m not super confident extrapolating individual to population level on the “marrying later” and “dating longer” points because the data could, hypothetically, look like this… Maybe between individuals it’s inversely correlated, but not between time points.

Why is the narrative (from the right at least) ENTIRELY the opposite? They’re telling people to marry young and quickly, which is associated with higher divorce rate And we’re told that divorce rate is higher than it’s ever been. Why the lie? And why isn’t it debunked?

Some people have no patience letting society go through a transitional period As a Gen Xer, I'm basically a member of the sacrificed generation. But I see so many smart young women today that it makes it all OK We're gonna be all-right

A large majority of married males are unhappy, sexless and/or juiced and drained into a husk. They only stay because of finances / assets / kids.

Tell it to the American Taliban promoting marriage for girls 19/20 years old 🤦🏻♀️ Trapping girls straight out of their parents house to responsibilities of marriage and child raising w no time to themselves, no serious career, no serious education 😢

marriage's rate has been divided by three since the 1930, I doubt the data is comparable anymore

I mean call me crazy but after a brief look at the birth rates... maybe marrying sooner, dating shorter, and a few cases of marrying because its expected and not because you want to might be good for society.

Yet another miss. Its economic. Low income families make up the majority of divorce and now they cannot afford to The amount of kids being left in single parent homes is rising and you're out here talking about "because you want to" Plenty of people want to they cant afford it

@RationalMale that’s because no one getting married, marriage rates are at the lowest since records began to be recorded

Let's see the actual numbers. When you see a statement like this and there are no raw numbers to back it up, it usually means they're presenting a deceptive picture.
