Because the war against Iran was never only about nuclear policy or regional security. It was about reshaping Iran itself: weakening it, fragmenting it, gaining leverage over its energy resources, and ultimately controlling the Strait of Hormuz. Had that project succeeded, Israel would have emerged with enormous military, political, and economic leverage across West Asia. Every country hesitant to join the Abraham Accords would have faced growing pressure to enter an Israeli-led regional order. That is why I see this as a high-stakes, zero-sum struggle for the Israeli Zionist establishment.
