THAT either happening or not happening is what matters most to the greys. And that's an issue of chemistry and biology, not so much physics. So the BIGGEST issue on our minds shouldn't necessarily be trying to figure out the technology behind the craft. That's important, but still missing the point. If the greys had strategic targets that they'd like to travel back in time to ice well in advance, it wouldn't necessarily be targets who were into physics. It would more likely be targets who understand climate science and biology and all the other critical elements of the cataclysm that cause the greys to either evolve into themselves or not. The people who might know how to reverse or prevent atmospheric catastrophe, or how to harden our bodies against it and survive it etc. Whether the cause of the atmospheric cataclysm is caused by an asteroid or something else, it all comes down to the chemistry of what we breathe and how it interacts with our bodies to either evolve the survivors into the greys or not. None of which is related to the propulsion tech of the UAPs, that is a secondary distraction. We have up until now failed ourselves by super epically missing the point. My local anecdote about dead scientists who were laid off by a NASA MSFC Biology Department only to be massacred years later is an example of this. A timeline war is surely a great example of "unconventional warfare." This particular type of unconventional warfare includes future information that allows you to take out targets many years before their individual relevance to the conflict is able to become obvious. Anyone who wants to understand the motivations and objectives of this particular timeline war just needs to google "dead scientists" and figure out what they all have in common. There actually is a great website that has been diligently recording mysterious deaths of scientists, going back to cases 20 years or longer ago. Plot twist - most of these "dead scientists" aren't physicists, although some of them are. But a complete list of mysteriously dead scientists includes biologists, climatologists, virologists, chemists, material scientists, agricultural scientists etc etc. Killed by random drive by shootings, cars exploding, sudden unexplained illnesses that kill them within a matter of days, home entries where nothing is stolen but they end up dead anyway, getting hit by a car as they walk down the sidewalk, disappearing and being found in the river, etc etc etc. Most of them told someone that they were scared shortly before they died of these random events of violence. None of these cases are provably traced back to intentional assassination, due to a clean getaway or lack of evidence. Future information certainly helps you figure out how to get away with it. But it seems like scientists tend to die of random acts of violence more often than the general population, and the dead are not all UAP physicists, in fact most of them aren't. Many of them are people like the former NASA Biology personnel who became professors at UAH only to get freaking massacred as a group years later. If you really wanna understand the objectives of the timeline war, then you need to figure out which scientists are dying off in the early or mid stages of their careers, and WHY. You can figure it out just by reading the prior papers of these randomly violently dead people and by extrapolating where their research may have led to ten or 20 years in the future if they had lived. You know how these things are. You know a hit when you see one, even if you can't prove it. Those deaths that just don't make any sense at all, even as random acts of violence. Those seemingly random tragedies that just happen to be occurring over and over and over again within pretty specific communities of study. The Tavistock Institution of human relations is a British non-profit reaserch and consulting organization, specialising in the study of group behavior. They also have sister companies in China and Germany, and it was established in 1947. They explained about how they needed to convince man that man is the problem. A non-profit in Big Sur, California that focuses on humanistic alternative education. The Institute played a key role in the Human Potential Movement beginning in the 1960s. The Esalen Institute was founded by Michael Murphy and Dick Price in 1962. It is basically the "think tank" of counterculture and the sexual revolution, promoted by very wealthy and influential people. Their intention was to support alternative methods for exploring human conscientiousness, promoting that everything is divine. One major thing you must understand that the roots of many of the people in Esalen were all into Satanic occult type belief systems and paganistic practices, like from the teachings of Anton LaVey and Aliester Crowley, who both were heavily involved in Satanism and also into pedophil*a and transhumanistic beliefs. During the fight, Manatau gave a firearm to his son, which resulted in the son attempting to murder the others. Manatau's son (the shooter) was shot in the chest during the engagement, and Manatau himself has been arrested. Analyst Comment: Concerning casualties, so far one fatality was reported as a result of the funeral shooting. The victim has been identified as Vilisoni (Soni) Angilau, a confirmed Tongan Crip who was recently released from prison after murdering a member of a rival gang in 2013. Soni Angilau's immediate relative, Naisa Angilau, was also recently released from prison for a completely different shooting as well, after he attempted to kill a gas station clerk in 2009. Of note, Soni's brother Siale also met a violent end as he was also shot and killed during a high-profile shooting that took place inside the courtroom during his trial. Siale Angilau was shot and killed by federal Marshals after attempting to stab a witness to death during his trial for racketeering back in 2014. Not true. Pete Hegseth's clothes are custom-made. A few years ago, my friend and I had a debate about whether you can spot custom tailoring. This friend has more than 30 years of experience working with some of London's best bespoke tailors. He believes that an educated eye can spot the difference between a custom and an off-the-rack suit. I don't think you can, assuming certain conditions (too detailed to get into here). Ultimately, we agreed on one thing: you can spot custom tailoring when the clothes are so ugly that no designer would ever make them. This explains a lot of the clothing you see nowadays. On a television segment aired long ago, Pete Hegseth said he used a company called Book a Tailor. And in the recent email hack, it was revealed that Kash Patel's email address was linked to this online clothing review, indicating he uses Rocky's HK Fashions. Long ago, Gavin McInness also talked about his tailor. They all share one thing: they wear clothes that were made in low-wage East Asian countries. I should note at the outset that there's nothing inherently wrong with East Asian tailoring. In fact, some of the world's best tailoring is done there, including at firms such as WW Chan (Hong Kong) and Atelier BRIO (Beijing). I would stake my reputation on saying that some of the best East Asian tailoring today rivals that of Savile Row. Seoul is also a tremendous hub for quality custom tailors (e.g., Assisi, The Finery Company, B&Tailor, Hamin Kim, among others). However, these people are not using such firms. Instead, they are relying on a new system developed sometime in the late 20th century that has since taken off with the development of digital information technology. In this system, someone with little experience in the clothing industry will set up a custom clothing company. For the sake of discussion, let's call this person Mark and the company "Custom Threads." Mark doesn't know much about tailoring, but he likes suits and wants to make money. So he contacts one of these factories in East Asia and sets up a partnership. Mark meets with clients in the US. Since he's wearing a suit and has a tape measurer around his neck, customers assume he knows what he's doing (some may even refer to him as a "tailor," even if he's not one). He takes detailed measurements of these clients, jots down their fabric choice, and sends the information to his partners in East Asian. The garment is then made by adjusting the block pattern, sewn straight to finish, and delivered to Mark, who presents it to the customer for a fitting. Small adjustments are made here and there — maybe taking up the sleeve or nipping the waist. But since Mark is not actually a technically trained cutter, he may miss things, such as a wrongly placed neckpoint that makes the jacket scissor in or out. If the customer is very far off from the block pattern, it may not fit him at all. But Mark is not in a good position to address these matters — he neither has the skills nor the margins to put this customer in a proper garment. If Mark is not very well educated on tailoring, then his customers are even less so. Thus, the customer is just happy with the crude hallmarks of custom-made goods, such as the monogram he asked for. Or the contrast colored buttonhole that he believes makes him stand out in a good way. The customer doesn't know how to check for more meaningful issues, such as front-back balance, so it's the blind leading the blind. This system is very different from the system of your grandfather's generation. If a man wanted a custom suit, he would have gone to a custom tailoring shop, which may have been owned by someone who wasn't a cutter, but the cutter would have seen you in person and thus been able to address technical issues. This battery is about to change the world in 3 months, or make this guy a fool | Fred Lambert, Hacker News Donut Lab lit the EV and energy storage industry on fire last week with its announcement of a 400 Wh/kg solid-state battery cell that can last for 100 years. At face value, if true, we are looking at the single most disruptive announcement in the history of the electric vehicle industry and energy storage as a whole. We aren’t just talking about a better motorcycle battery. If the claims of a 5-minute charge, 100,000-cycle life, and ~400 Wh/kg energy density are accurate and scalable, as Donut Lab claims, this is the holy grail of energy storage. Battery breakthrough announcements generally don’t catch fire like this, but Donut Lab’s did because it said that the cell was already in production and will be in a production vehicle, Verge’s electric motorcycle, this quarter. It gave credibility to the claim, pushing everyone to report on it. Now, we have interviewed Donut Lab’s CEO and investigated the technology. At this point, it looks like either this battery changes the world within the next 3 months, or it will make the CEO look like a fool. In this article, we discuss the impact of the battery, whether real or not, as well as clues about the secret sauce behind its chemistry. The Holy Grail of Energy Storage Consider the implications. A battery that lasts 100,000 cycles is effectively immortal in human terms. You could charge it every single day for 270 years, and it would still be working. It means the battery outlives the vehicle, not just once, but ten times over. It changes the economics of transportation entirely: you buy the battery once, and you swap it into your next five cars. The power density required for a 5-minute charge and the 400 Wh/kg of energy density opens the door to commercial electric aviation, a sector currently strangled by the weight and slow charging speeds of lithium-ion. It solves the grid storage problem by offering a medium that doesn’t degrade, meaning utility companies could amortize the cost over a century rather than a decade. If this is real, the internal combustion engine didn’t just die today; it was buried 100 feet deep, and every other battery is not far behind. But, and this is a massive “but”, extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof, and Donut Lab has yet to release that proof. And that brings us to the man making them. The Man Betting His Reputation I spoke with Marko Lehtimäki, the CEO of Donut Lab and Chairman of Verge Motorcycles. My goal was simple: ask him about the chemistry behind his battery and, if that doesn’t work, look him in the eye and figure out if he’s selling vaporware or if he’s sitting on the breakthrough of the century. Marko isn’t a random guy shouting about a battery breakthrough that will change the world. He is a legit entrepreneur. A computer scientist who built a no-coding app builder years before “vibe coding” was even a thing and sold it to SAP. After the successful exit, he became an investor and serial entrepreneur with his biggest, or most well-known, company being Verge Motorcycles, which has real products on the road. By announcing that this “miracle battery” is already in production and will be shipping in customer vehicles within 10 weeks, he is betting his entire personal reputation on this technology. If he misses this timeline or if the specs are fake, Donut Labs and Verge Motorcycles might not survive the credibility loss. He has a lot to lose here. In my article about the battery announcement last week, I noted that Marko’s presentation was incredible. He basically described a perfect battery: record energy density, incredible charge rate, unprecedented longevity, no rare metals, a cost lower than traditional Li-ion cells, and in scalable production right now. Sounds too good to be true? The only thing he didn’t share was details about the chemistry, beyond saying it doesn’t use lithium or other rare metals. What’s the point of protecting the chemistry if the battery is already in production and it will be in a product shipped this quarter? If that’s true, the battery will be reverse-engineered before the snow completely melts. We discussed it with Marko during our interview. His logic is that once the bikes ship, competitors will tear them down and figure it out anyway. But that won’t happen for another 10 weeks or so, and the head start is critical for a technology this disruptive. In the meantime, Donut Lab’s goal with the announcement was to get the attention of OEMs and ship them battery packs for validation. Marko said: We are right now shipping demo packs to OEMs under NDAs and under tight disclosures so that they can test that all of that is true, which serves our business very well [better than disclosing the chemistry]. But these programs with OEMs are likely to take a long time before they become public. Shorter term, there’s Verge Motorcycles shipping bikes with the battery by the end of the quarter. Before that, Marko also said that we should soon see third-party testing of those cells: We rather right now ship it to authorized research and science center that tests everything without opening it and telling everybody what’s in there. In short, we should have a good idea whether the claims are true or not in just a few weeks no matter what. What does Marko, or Donut Lab, have to gain by lying about this? I also discussed this with Marko and the only thing I could come up with is if he happens to be raising capital right now, but he shut that down: There are a million investors chasing us right now, but we are literally not talking to anybody. We tell investors that we can discuss terms after we have done all our disclosures. Marko insisted that Donut Lab is not taking any investment until they have proven their cells work. In short, it’s hard to find an upside for Donut Lab in making this announcement if the claims are not true. It doesn’t mean that they are, but it makes you think. The Investigation: What Is the “Donut Battery”? So, what is the secret sauce? Marko wouldn’t say, but after digging into public records, supply chains, and research papers, I believe we have a pretty good idea. Let me preface this by saying that I’m not a chemist or physicist, but I’ve been a journalist covering electric vehicles for more than a decade, and I’m pretty good at connecting the dots, and in this case, I’ve had the help of a couple of great sources, too. I’m not saying that this is the Donut Lab battery, but since they are not sharing much, we have to speculate, and all evidence points to a Finnish nanotechnology startup called Nordic Nano and its Chief Scientist, Dr. Bela Bhuskute. Donut Lab invested in Nordic Nano in October 2025, just months before this announcement. At the time of writing this, the press release has fewer than 200 views. The announcement went under the radar, and while Marko said that Nordic Nano is more of a “solar company” during our interview, the announcement mentions both solar and energy storage. Dr. Bhuskute’s research at Tampere University focuses on amorphous Titanium Dioxide nanostructures, which could benefit many different technologies, including batteries. It fits the “miracle” specs perfectly: - 100,000 Cycles: Traditional solid-state batteries are crystalline (like a brick wall) and crack when ions rush in. Dr. Bhuskute’s amorphous Titanium Dioxide is disordered (like a sponge) and “breathes,” allowing it to expand and contract without breaking. - 5-Minute Charge: This chemistry stores energy via “pseudocapacitance,” which is basically like Velcro. Ions stick to the surface almost instantly rather than having to burrow deep inside the material. - The Manufacturing: Nordic Nano uses a “nanofluid” printing process for its solar product using the technology. This aligns with Donut Lab’s description of a “clay-like” material that enables an easier manufacturing process. Some call this “battery printing”, which could explain Donut Lab’s ability to bring this to production in record time. When I asked Marko for the volumetric energy density (Wh/L), he claimed he “couldn’t remember”. Volumetric energy density is one of the few specs that Donut Lab hasn’t released. This battery is lighter than lithium-ion, but it could be bigger due to the amorphous nature of the titanium dioxide. However, the CEO claimed it has a higher volumetric density than traditional Li-ion batteries, without providing a specific number. If that’s true, not only could electric vehicles and energy storage switch to this new chemistry, but even personal electronics, such as smartphones. In 2025, Nordic Nano has been making moves, including securing a former large retail location in Imatra, Finland, near the Russian border: It could be where the company has set up production. Following investment from the Finnish government, Nordic Nano had to elaborate a bit on its products and confirmed that it is working on “solar energy systems and energy storage solutions”: The company’s range of products includes two product families: solar energy systems and energy storage solutions: The ultra-thin and flexible solar film collects twice the amount of energy compared to traditional silicon-based solar panels. Solid-state salt batteries are manufactured by printing from nanofluid, which enables the efficient use of space and the production of batteries in varying shapes. Furthermore, the company confirmed that it is using a “screenprinting” manufacturing method. This is not new. Other companies have produced battery cells with this technology with varying degrees of success. It appears that the bet is that the amorphous rather than crystalized titanium dioxide nanostructure could be more easily adapted and scaled with this manufacturing technology. Electrek’s Take I’m naturally skeptical, and this screams “too good to be true”, but I can’t find anything that categorically rejects the claims. I get battery breakthrough announcements in my inbox every week, and most of the time they never amount to anything. If I decide to spend some time researching them and talking to experts, I generally quickly hit a problem or two that make them commercially unviable. This announcement is different. We can’t really investigate the actual breakthrough; we can only speculate about it, since it is guarded. Marko’s logic for guarding the chemistry is sound, and the incentives to lie about what they have aren’t clear if he is not currently raising money. Then, because they claim this is already in production and will be in a deliverable product within weeks, we will know whether the claims are true in short order, and their reputations, especially Marko’s, are on the line. During my interview, Marko didn’t seem too worried about it. It doesn’t sound like someone who needs to quickly figure out how to deliver this, but rather someone who has a couple of aces in their hand and is looking to maximize them. It’s also strange that this innovation and then production quickly comes from a relatively small company. I thought researching Donut Lab would make me more skeptical about the claims, but it’s the contrary. It confirms that their technology stems from years of research, backed by university and government funding for its commercialization. This battery is about to change the world in 3 months, or make this guy a fool | Fred Lambert, Hacker News Donut Lab lit the EV and energy storage industry on fire last week with its announcement of a 400 Wh/kg solid-state battery cell that can last for 100 years. At face value, if true, we are looking at the single most disruptive announcement in the history of the electric vehicle industry and energy storage as a whole. We aren’t just talking about a better motorcycle battery. If the claims of a 5-minute charge, 100,000-cycle life, and ~400 Wh/kg energy density are accurate and scalable, as Donut Lab claims, this is the holy grail of energy storage. Battery breakthrough announcements generally don’t catch fire like this, but Donut Lab’s did because it said that the cell was already in production and will be in a production vehicle, Verge’s electric motorcycle, this quarter. It gave credibility to the claim, pushing everyone to report on it. Now, we have interviewed Donut Lab’s CEO and investigated the technology. At this point, it looks like either this battery changes the world within the next 3 months, or it will make the CEO look like a fool. In this article, we discuss the impact of the battery, whether real or not, as well as clues about the secret sauce behind its chemistry. The Holy Grail of Energy Storage Consider the implications. A battery that lasts 100,000 cycles is effectively immortal in human terms. You could charge it every single day for 270 years, and it would still be working. It means the battery outlives the vehicle, not just once, but ten times over. It changes the economics of transportation entirely: you buy the battery once, and you swap it into your next five cars. The power density required for a 5-minute charge and the 400 Wh/kg of energy density opens the door to commercial electric aviation, a sector currently strangled by the weight and slow charging speeds of lithium-ion. It solves the grid storage problem by offering a medium that doesn’t degrade, meaning utility companies could amortize the cost over a century rather than a decade. If this is real, the internal combustion engine didn’t just die today; it was buried 100 feet deep, and every other battery is not far behind. But, and this is a massive “but”, extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof, and Donut Lab has yet to release that proof. And that brings us to the man making them. The Man Betting His Reputation I spoke with Marko Lehtimäki, the CEO of Donut Lab and Chairman of Verge Motorcycles. My goal was simple: ask him about the chemistry behind his battery and, if that doesn’t work, look him in the eye and figure out if he’s selling vaporware or if he’s sitting on the breakthrough of the century. Marko isn’t a random guy shouting about a battery breakthrough that will change the world. He is a legit entrepreneur. A computer scientist who built a no-coding app builder years before “vibe coding” was even a thing and sold it to SAP. After the successful exit, he became an investor and serial entrepreneur with his biggest, or most well-known, company being Verge Motorcycles, which has real products on the road. By announcing that this “miracle battery” is already in production and will be shipping in customer vehicles within 10 weeks, he is betting his entire personal reputation on this technology. If he misses this timeline or if the specs are fake, Donut Labs and Verge Motorcycles might not survive the credibility loss. He has a lot to lose here. In my article about the battery announcement last week, I noted that Marko’s presentation was incredible. He basically described a perfect battery: record energy density, incredible charge rate, unprecedented longevity, no rare metals, a cost lower than traditional Li-ion cells, and in scalable production right now. Sounds too good to be true? The only thing he didn’t share was details about the chemistry, beyond saying it doesn’t use lithium or other rare metals. What’s the point of protecting the chemistry if the battery is already in production and it will be in a product shipped this quarter? If that’s true, the battery will be reverse-engineered before the snow completely melts. We discussed it with Marko during our interview. His logic is that once the bikes ship, competitors will tear them down and figure it out anyway. But that won’t happen for another 10 weeks or so, and the head start is critical for a technology this disruptive. In the meantime, Donut Lab’s goal with the announcement was to get the attention of OEMs and ship them battery packs for validation. Marko said: We are right now shipping demo packs to OEMs under NDAs and under tight disclosures so that they can test that all of that is true, which serves our business very well [better than disclosing the chemistry]. But these programs with OEMs are likely to take a long time before they become public. Shorter term, there’s Verge Motorcycles shipping bikes with the battery by the end of the quarter. Before that, Marko also said that we should soon see third-party testing of those cells: We rather right now ship it to authorized research and science center that tests everything without opening it and telling everybody what’s in there. In short, we should have a good idea whether the claims are true or not in just a few weeks no matter what. What does Marko, or Donut Lab, have to gain by lying about this? I also discussed this with Marko and the only thing I could come up with is if he happens to be raising capital right now, but he shut that down: There are a million investors chasing us right now, but we are literally not talking to anybody. We tell investors that we can discuss terms after we have done all our disclosures. Marko insisted that Donut Lab is not taking any investment until they have proven their cells work. In short, it’s hard to find an upside for Donut Lab in making this announcement if the claims are not true. It doesn’t mean that they are, but it makes you think. The Investigation: What Is the “Donut Battery”? So, what is the secret sauce? Marko wouldn’t say, but after digging into public records, supply chains, and research papers, I believe we have a pretty good idea. Let me preface this by saying that I’m not a chemist or physicist, but I’ve been a journalist covering electric vehicles for more than a decade, and I’m pretty good at connecting the dots, and in this case, I’ve had the help of a couple of great sources, too. I’m not saying that this is the Donut Lab battery, but since they are not sharing much, we have to speculate, and all evidence points to a Finnish nanotechnology startup called Nordic Nano and its Chief Scientist, Dr. Bela Bhuskute. Donut Lab invested in Nordic Nano in October 2025, just months before this announcement. At the time of writing this, the press release has fewer than 200 views. The announcement went under the radar, and while Marko said that Nordic Nano is more of a “solar company” during our interview, the announcement mentions both solar and energy storage. Dr. Bhuskute’s research at Tampere University focuses on amorphous Titanium Dioxide nanostructures, which could benefit many different technologies, including batteries. It fits the “miracle” specs perfectly: - 100,000 Cycles: Traditional solid-state batteries are crystalline (like a brick wall) and crack when ions rush in. Dr. Bhuskute’s amorphous Titanium Dioxide is disordered (like a sponge) and “breathes,” allowing it to expand and contract without breaking. - 5-Minute Charge: This chemistry stores energy via “pseudocapacitance,” which is basically like Velcro. Ions stick to the surface almost instantly rather than having to burrow deep inside the material. - The Manufacturing: Nordic Nano uses a “nanofluid” printing process for its solar product using the technology. This aligns with Donut Lab’s description of a “clay-like” material that enables an easier manufacturing process. Some call this “battery printing”, which could explain Donut Lab’s ability to bring this to production in record time. When I asked Marko for the volumetric energy density (Wh/L), he claimed he “couldn’t remember”. Volumetric energy density is one of the few specs that Donut Lab hasn’t released. This battery is lighter than lithium-ion, but it could be bigger due to the amorphous nature of the titanium dioxide. However, the CEO claimed it has a higher volumetric density than traditional Li-ion batteries, without providing a specific number. If that’s true, not only could electric vehicles and energy storage switch to this new chemistry, but even personal electronics, such as smartphones. In 2025, Nordic Nano has been making moves, including securing a former large retail location in Imatra, Finland, near the Russian border: It could be where the company has set up production. Following investment from the Finnish government, Nordic Nano had to elaborate a bit on its products and confirmed that it is working on “solar energy systems and energy storage solutions”: The company’s range of products includes two product families: solar energy systems and energy storage solutions: The ultra-thin and flexible solar film collects twice the amount of energy compared to traditional silicon-based solar panels. Solid-state salt batteries are manufactured by printing from nanofluid, which enables the efficient use of space and the production of batteries in varying shapes. Furthermore, the company confirmed that it is using a “screenprinting” manufacturing method. This is not new. Other companies have produced battery cells with this technology with varying degrees of success. It appears that the bet is that the amorphous rather than crystalized titanium dioxide nanostructure could be more easily adapted and scaled with this manufacturing technology. Electrek’s Take I’m naturally skeptical, and this screams “too good to be true”, but I can’t find anything that categorically rejects the claims. I get battery breakthrough announcements in my inbox every week, and most of the time they never amount to anything. If I decide to spend some time researching them and talking to experts, I generally quickly hit a problem or two that make them commercially unviable. This announcement is different. We can’t really investigate the actual breakthrough; we can only speculate about it, since it is guarded. Marko’s logic for guarding the chemistry is sound, and the incentives to lie about what they have aren’t clear if he is not currently raising money. COMMENT Where is the evidence? A post like the one above must necessarily refer to attach the evidence of the alleged torture. Otherwise, wherever and whenever interrogation techniques that use torture and the practice of prolonged pretrial or no trial detention are practised; they're wrong, abominable, and unacceptable because they’re inherently inhuman; regardless of who practices them, whom they're practised against or why they're practised. The attached and above referenced post shared by U.S. Embassy Harare on this platform in light of the 44th Ordinary Sadc Summit set for today in Harare is opportunistic, deceitful, and hypocritical self-fulfilling US propaganda, which U.S. Embassy Harare believes should taken for what it claims simply because it's coming from America. At face value, the post purports to affirm US “support for SADC's goal to achieve economic development, peace & security”. But this ‘support’ is neither proven nor apparent, it is merely claimed and asserted. More particularly revealing is that the US affirmation of its purported “support for SADC's goal to achieve economic development, peace & security” is done politically, insincerely, dishonestly and deceitfully; apparently to enable the U.S. Embassy Harare to opportunistically and hypocritically allege - without citing or presenting any iota of evidence – that there’s "intimidation, torture & prolonged pre-trial detention of Zimbabwean citizens"; which the Embassy self-righteously and arrogantly says "run counter to these [Sadc] principles". Since torture is a crime against humanity, allegations thereof should be taken seriously by the relevant authorities wherever and whenever they’re made. For this reason, those who make allegations of torture or any crime against humanity, have a duty and an obligation to backup or support their allegations with evidence that speaks for itself beyond prima facie disputation. The allegations must be substantive, and proven; they should not be mere claims that are asserted arrogantly, politically, opportunistically and hypocritically without any corroborated evidence. Just because the U.S. Embassy Harare is in Harare, which this week is hosting the 44th Ordinary SADC Summit should not cause the Embassy to be so brazenly and arrogantly opportunistic and hypocritical to the reckless point of pretending to be ignorant of indubitable facts about torture and prolonged pre-trial detention in the US and the US support of the worst of the same in apartheid Israel. For example, and for the sake of perspective, three points are important to keep in mind: (i) The US is notorious for keeping 'terrorist' suspects and other accused persons in prolonged pretrial detention within and outside the US — including through rendition—and for 'lawfully' torturing the suspects using despicable and dehumanising techniques like waterboarding and rectal rehydration. (ii) US acts of aiding and abetting the prolonged pretrial and no trial detention, and the rampant dehumanising torture and gruesome murder of Palestinians by apartheid Israel, virtually on an hourly basis across the illegally occupied Palestinian Territories are a matter of documented common cause. (ii) The US has a double-faced posture on torture: on the one hand, it uses torture as its interrogation technique of choice; on the other hand, the US uses torture allegations often with no supporting evidence, as a propaganda weapon to smear and stigmatise targeted countries. Now, given that torture and prolonged pretrial and no trial detention are wrong, abominable, and inhuman wherever and whenever they are practised; and given that the US is notorious for practising torture and prolonged pretrial and no trial detention; and further given that the US is notorious for aiding and abetting torture; cold blooded murder and prolonged pretrial and no trial detention of Palestinians in apartheid Israel; where on earth does the U.S. Embassy Harare derive any moral authority to preach or pontificate about torture and prolonged pretrial detention to SADC Secretariat or to anyone else anywhere in the world, for that matter? The moral question is very important, especially since both the US and Israel routinely justify their dehumanising and gruesome torture techniques on 'legal' grounds; they oxymoronically claim that their torture is ‘legal’. For example, during her Senate confirmation hearings, Gina Haspel - CIA Director under the presidency of Donald Trump from 21 May 2018 to 20 January 2021 - was repeatedly asked by then Senator Kamala Harris, and now the Democratic Party presidential candidate in the November 2024 elections; whether she [Gina Haspel] believed that the CIA’s interrogation [torture] techniques, like waterboarding, were immoral. Haspel repeatedly declined to answer. Tellingly and shockingly, Kamala Harris herself sought to sanitise the CIA’s use of torture interrogation techniques by referring to them as "previous interrogation techniques", falsely presenting them as a thing of the past; and, in any event, outrageously casting them as having been 'legal' but 'not moral'; yet the CIA torture interrogation techniques are illegal because torture is a crime against humanity under international law. Regarding the U.S. Embassy Harare post in question, as a bottom line, there's a critical and urgent need for a better, non-opportunistic, non-holier than thou and more responsible approach for dealing with torture as a reprehensible and unacceptable interrogation technique; than what the U.S. Embassy Harare opportunistically, deceitfully and hypocritically displays on its post. It bears reiterating with great emphasis that what is wrong with the U.S. Embassy Harare post is that it makes serious allegations of torture without providing any evidence of the alleged torture. There’s no evidence at all, save for bald allegations. Somehow, Sadc and everyone else targeted by the US Embassy post is supposed to take and believe the torture allegations purely and only on the basis that the allegations are being made by the US, using the old age trick that if you want to kill a dog, just allege that it has rabies. But, of course experience tells an entirely different story with unassailable proof that the US actually lies routinely, with the indescribably embarrassing case in point being the wildly false 2002 US claims that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction; which led to the barbaric 2003 US invasion of Iraq to overthrow Hussein with the consequence of literally destroying Iraq. There’s an important background that explains the U.S. Embassy Harare post under the spotlight. In the run up to today’s 44th Ordinary Sadc Summit in Harare, the US Embassy started mobilising its ‘assets’ to get them to make noise that the summit should reactivate the now archived 2023 Sadc Elections Observer Mission (SEOM) report on the 2023 harmonised general elections, hoping to discredit and derail Zimbabwe’s assumption of Sadc chairmanship. ‘Assets’ in this case are individuals linked to opposition political parties, sections of the media and civil society, etc., that the US funds or sponsors to carry out its psychological [propaganda] operations against a targeted country; under the cover of its diplomatic status. In mobilising its ‘assets’ in Harare to orchestrate trouble around the 44th Ordinary Sadc Summit in Harare, the U.S. Embassy Harare took advantage of the unfortunate fact that the state of opposition politics in Zimbabwe today is comatose. Structurally and objectively speaking, there are no opposition parties in Zimbabwe. All there is are some opposition and NGO individuals, among whom the overwhelming majority are seen and treated by the U.S. Embassy Harare as its ‘assets’. Against this backdrop, and working in cahoots with its networks of merchants of regime change in southern Africa which includes the likes of the Oppenheimer funded Brenthurst Foundation, the U.S. Embassy Harare has become the convener and coordinator of its ‘assets’ — whom it let loose and deployed inside Zimbabwe, in South Africa and elsewhere including overseas — in the run up to today’s 44th Ordinary Sadc Summit and used to peddle its torture claims without putting any compelling evidence. With no structured and organised opposition politics, and with a proliferation of one-man and one-woman briefcase NGOs; as is the situation in Zimbabwe today, it has been relatively easy for the U.S. Embassy Harare to use its ‘assets’ [individuals] to peddle its unproven allegations; focussed on today’s 44th Ordinary Sadc Summit, which became a lucrative event for US ‘assets’. The rest is history, yet to be told. Meanwhile, and because torture is a crime against humanity, allegations of torture must not be political or opportunistic propaganda, they must be real and evidential; based on proven and verifiable evidence; especially when they’re made by an entity such as the U.S. Embassy Harare, an embassy of a superpower!

(ii) US acts of aiding and abetting the prolonged pretrial and no trial detention, and the rampant dehumanising torture and gruesome murder of Palestinians by apartheid Israel, virtually on an hourly basis across the illegally occupied Palestinian Territories are a matter of documented common cause. (ii) The US has a double-faced posture on torture: on the one hand, it uses torture as its interrogation technique of choice; on the other hand, the US uses torture allegations often with no supporting evidence, as a propaganda weapon to smear and stigmatise targeted countries. Now, given that torture and prolonged pretrial and no trial detention are wrong, abominable, and inhuman wherever and whenever they are practised; and given that the US is notorious for practising torture and prolonged pretrial and no trial detention; and further given that the US is notorious for aiding and abetting torture; cold blooded murder and prolonged pretrial and no trial detention of Palestinians in apartheid Israel; where on earth does the U.S. Embassy Harare derive any moral authority to preach or pontificate about torture and prolonged pretrial detention to SADC Secretariat or to anyone else anywhere in the world, for that matter? The moral question is very important, especially since both the US and Israel routinely justify their dehumanising and gruesome torture techniques on 'legal' grounds; they oxymoronically claim that their torture is ‘legal’. For example, during her Senate confirmation hearings, Gina Haspel - CIA Director under the presidency of Donald Trump from 21 May 2018 to 20 January 2021 - was repeatedly asked by then Senator Kamala Harris, and now the Democratic Party presidential candidate in the November 2024 elections; whether she [Gina Haspel] believed that the CIA’s interrogation [torture] techniques, like waterboarding, were immoral. Haspel repeatedly declined to answer. Tellingly and shockingly, Kamala Harris herself sought to sanitise the CIA’s use of torture interrogation techniques by referring to them as "previous interrogation techniques", falsely presenting them as a thing of the past; and, in any event, outrageously casting them as having been 'legal' but 'not moral'; yet the CIA torture interrogation techniques are illegal because torture is a crime against humanity under international law.
