I did that in Xenosaga I and never got into a mech, but I’m glad they fixed it in Xenosaga II and III, where you can’t solo a mech on foot. Of course, outside of that cutscene in Xenogears, you’d never be caught trying to solo something bigger than you or taking 999+ damage.
