@robdibble49 another great example of a terrible rule. Perfect throw, right on the button. Baserunner slid right into his glove where he caught the ball. Couldn’t have been a better play. WTF is Lindor supposed to do? Move his glove out of the way then tag him higher? Bonkers.

Not a new rule. A rule of emphasis. Without the ball you have to give the baserunner a clear path to the base SS set up in the path, caught the ball, applied the tag You can’t set up in the path.

It’s simple mechanics that can be altered. It does not ruin the game. Make the adjustment. It’s for the fielder’s safety.

Major League games are ruined. NFL NBA MLB none are enjoyable, most seem rigged.

If you can’t block the bag how are you supposed to throw out the runner stealing 2nd, it’s the only way to get in position from that angle

How else can he catch the ball??? Who comes up with these stupid rules ? Someone who never played ball before. Bring back the 60 and 70 s era . Much better baseball.

They will keep giving the umpires more discretion until they run the game, like football and baseball. This way, it will be easier to fix games.
