What Macron may frame as a gesture for peace must be scrutinized in light of this historical subterfuge. The strategic construction of “Palestinian national identity” wasn't born of organic self-determination, but rather of calculated disinformation. Even PLO figures like Zuheir Mohsen admitted the identity was politically convenient. By recognizing such a state, France risks validating a Cold War relic designed to obscure the real roots of the conflict and empower those who continue to manipulate international institutions against Israel. Any peace built on that foundation is not justice—it’s distortion.
