'Too much of you just enough of me/us'! You're a student of Malthus & Ehrlich. They said the same thing you're saying today & are worshipped antihumanists like you. They preached depopulation of the earth through various degrowth tactics but look at us! Healthy fed 8B people!

i’m anti depopulation. the “population bomb” was BS & Malthus was wrong shifting to a post growth economy can unlock a new era of human flourishing for 8B+ people! but if we want to do it we need to do it now. if growth train 🚂 derails, global food supply chains will be at risk

@AnnieLeymarie This video is totally unrealistic. No economist would be that gracious and self-reflective.

#degrowth means ditching 3-4 billion non-contributing #bullshitjobs. "Degrowth" is just such a bad term. People always associate "going backwards" with it. When it's simply about obsoleting nonsense employment.

The only thing that is 'growing', that's the number of non-contributing, net loss #bullshitjobs. Wasting our resources and energy. Causing #climatechange and "inflation". While also making GDP go up. Reflecting all the wasted resources and energy.

That’s nice, however it feels like people hate the idea of reducing consumption… and climate change will cause degrowth sooner rather than later

Nice video ;) I think what you describe at the end of your video is also economic growth?

You are contradicting your self. When you say the economy can get infinitely better then it can get infinitely bigger, because the infinitely bigger refers to GDP which has no apriori reason to have an upper bound even if we input a limited amount of material.

30x bigger economy in 100 years means 30x more efficient usage of resources. That’s why people in Europe don’t die in winter because lack of wood to burn for heat and we can argue on Twitter while still the forests grow. The growth in nonsocialist countries is in efficiency📈♻️
