The national highway now resembles a lake. As there is a risk of vehicles being swept away by the floodwaters, the police have stopped traffic.

WATCH: Police dashcam footage shows a Montgomery County Police sergeant’s cruiser being destroyed during a street takeover on East-West Highway at Connecticut Ave in Chevy Chase, Maryland 🚨 In total, two cruisers were damaged during the attack, with one having the entire rear windshield busted out. Amazingly, no officers were injured. No arrests have been made for the incident as of now. A white female in her 30s is in custody after leading three agencies on a chase exceeding 100 miles per hour. The incident began around 2:30 this afternoon in St. Johns County, where deputies attempted to make a traffic stop for speeding and reckless driving. The woman tried to run deputies off the road and was seen holding a hammer out of her window. The Florida Highway Patrol then became involved and requested JSO’s assistance on I-95 at the Duval County line. The pursuit continued north on I-95 through Jacksonville’s Southside and downtown areas, with the suspect attempting to ram law enforcement vehicles. Her vehicle collided with a civilian’s vehicle on the Fuller Warren Bridge near downtown. Officers stopped to check on the civilian driver, who was unharmed. Authorities continued the pursuit until they reached the Trout River, about 27 miles north of the county line, where a patrol officer successfully performed a PIT maneuver, bringing the chase to an end. Around 3:05 p.m., officers took the woman was taken into custody. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue responded to evaluate her for injuries. The suspect faces multiple felony charges in both jurisdictions. The circumstance are still under investigation and we will update you as this develops. Due to the crash and ongoing severe weather, there is a significant traffic backup on I-95 in both directions at the Trout River Bridge. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes if possible.

WATCH: “Street takeover” crews shut down the intersection of Georgetown Pike and Dolley Madison Boulevard in McLean, Virginia (just south of the CIA Headquarters) this morning 🚨 Fairfax County Police and Virginia State Police were called out to the major intersection at around 1:30am for the report of street racers having shut down the intersection to do burnouts and donuts. Police arrived and were able to disperse the crowd and large group of cars. A stolen car was also ditched by the group in the middle of the roadway and later recovered by Fairfax County Police. The group of street racers was last seen headed towards Tysons Corner, Virginia and later up I-495 into Montgomery County, Maryland. Fairfax County Police’s 🚁 witnessed most of the incident from above. This is believed to be a SEPARATE group from the large car rally in Prince George’s County earlier tonight.
