🚨🇺🇸🇲🇽BREAKING: MEXICAN NAVY MEDICAL PLANE CRASHES NEAR GALVESTON, TEXAS, AT LEAST 3 DEAD A pediatric patient was being transported for burn treatment. A Mexican Navy medical aircraft crashed into West Galveston Bay on Monday afternoon while on final approach to Scholes International Airport amid heavy fog. At least three people are confirmed dead. The aircraft, a Beech King Air 350i, had departed from Merida in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula carrying a pediatric burn patient likely bound for Shriners Children's Hospital in Galveston. Up to eight people were reportedly on board. At least three people, including a small child, were rescued and transported by ambulance. The U.S. Coast Guard, Galveston County Sheriff's Office, and Texas Department of Public Safety are on scene. Dive teams, drones, and crime scene units have been deployed to the crash site in the bay west of the causeway. This is the second Mexican medical transport flight to crash this year. Earlier in 2025, a similar flight carrying a pediatric patient went down in Philadelphia, killing all seven on board and one person on the ground. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
