Lorenzo Salgado Araujo (a Mexican illegal alien), was pulled over in my hometown of Houston this morning and immediately refused police commands. He then tried to ram an ICE vehicle and run over an agent with his car. Police shot him when he attempted to murder the officer. The officer survived, Lorenzo did not.

#BREAKING: Psaki: “Last night the Harris County Medical Examiner officially ruled the shooting of 52 year old Lorenzo Salgado Araujo by ICE officers in Houston a homicide, and today the Department of Homeland Security’s already unbelievable narrative about that shooting kept falling apart. DHS initially justified the shooting by saying that Salgado Araujo weaponized his vehicle attempting to run over an agent and the agent only used his weapon in self defense, but today, the three other men in the van disputed that account. Speaking to the Washington Post via lawyer because all three of them are currently in ICE detention, they said that Salgado Araujo did not try to ram anyone with his van. They say that there were never even any ICE agents in front of the van and that the agents shot at the van from the side of the vehicle, not the front.”

ICE officers and agents face relentless attacks daily. This week, an illegal alien attempted to ram their vehicle into ICE officers, forcing them to respond with deadly force. The violence and rhetoric targeting ICE must stop.

Family members and local officials are calling for a full investigation into the shooting death of a man killed by ICE agents in Houston. Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was shot Tuesday as ICE agents tried to arrest him. Federal officials say he tried to flee and “weaponized his vehicle” toward an ICE officer, who opened fire in self-defense. Geoff Bennett speaks to Colleen DeGuzman for more.

Why is LULAC, a pro-illegal alien organization, so desperate to blame ICE agents? Their own video shows the opposite. Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was dangerously evading the agents, even driving up on curbs attempting to get away.

At the memorial for Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, an illegal alien said, “ICE follows us like dogs.” Wrong. ICE follows illegal aliens because they broke the law. You only get taken down when you try to run over agents with your car. Comply and you won’t have issues.

James Talirico is a liar. Five minutes of research into Lorenzo Salgado Araujo would show you that he: 1. Rammed his vehicle into an ICE agents vehicle. 2. Did not follow any commands. 3. Tried to run over ICE agents. Wake up Texas. This man can’t win in November.

New gas station surveillance footage has surfaced regarding this week’s deadly ICE shooting. Security video from a local gas station shows a white van believed to be driven by Lorenzo Salgado Araujo. The low-resolution footage captures what appear to be ICE agents pulling an individual from the passenger side. It remains unclear whether this occurred before or after Salgado Araujo was shot.

All three suspects involved in the ICE ramming and fatal shooting in Houston can be seen in this video. DHS has released the following updated statement below. "On July 7, 2026, at approximately 6:50 AM CT, ICE law enforcement attempted to conduct a vehicle stop as part of a targeted enforcement operation to arrest an illegal alien. The driver of the vehicle, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo—an illegal alien from Mexico—attempted to evade arrest. From information we are receiving, he rammed an ICE law enforcement vehicle, refused to follow multiple verbal commands, and weaponized his vehicle in an attempt to run over an ICE law enforcement officer resulting in our officer firing his weapon in self-defense. The driver was struck, and emergency services were immediately contacted. The driver was transported to the hospital where he passed away from his injuries. DHS-OIG is leading an investigation into the agent-involved shooting. FBI Houston is leading an investigation into the potential assault on a federal law enforcement officer. This is a developing situation, and we will update the public when more information is available."

Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, the Mexican man shot and killed by an ICE officer in Texas, was laid to rest this weekend. His American sons, Ronaldo and Lorenzo Salgado Jr., told CBS News' Camilo Montoya-Galvez they’re going to miss their father’s presence, “infectious laugh” and construction hats. ICE says one of its agents shot Salgado Araujo in self-defense, claiming the Mexican immigrant weaponized his work van during a traffic stop in Houston. Salgado Araujo’s family has disputed that version of events, demanding an independent investigation into the July 7 killing.
