The Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa has no business in the UK at this time, he should be leading a delegation of the service chiefs to Maiduguri immediately. I have been remotely involved in the activities on the state visit and the key issues that have dominated the conversations are on trade, business and investment. Unlike the visit to Turkey, the UK is not offering Nigeria any material support in defence and intelligence. So at best, he could have had someone else stand in for him on this trip. He has more serious demands on the home front. The Minister of defence came in with the ovation of all Nigerians and to whom much is given much is also expected. Nigerians want to see tangible improvements in the security situation. Himself and the service won’t be afforded excuses much longer. They must step up and justify the confidence President Bola Tinubu has reposed in them. Nigerians are impatient they want to see an overall improvement in the security situation. The clock is ticking.

I genuinely think Silver needs to get his edge back. A lot of fans misunderstand his character, and I honestly believe that comes from the western writing of Sonic 06 - especially the voice direction. In the English version, Silver’s tone made him sound more awkward or “nerdy,” which wasn’t really the intention of his character. If you listen to the Japanese version, the difference is huge. He sounds deeper, more serious, more determined - like someone who’s actually carrying the weight of a ruined future on his shoulders. That shift in delivery completely changes how you perceive him. It’s frustrating how not just Sonic 06, but so many franchises in general, end up feeling watered down in western adaptations because of how they change the plot significantly. Silver was meant to be intense and driven, not misunderstood as soft or clueless. I really hope he eventually gets the characterization he deserves - the strong, focused, future-warrior energy that made him compelling in the first place. He literally did not hesitate and the poor guy was all alone.

Robinson Ortiz...Atta Baby! Ortiz had a HUGE year this past season, and got rewarded by being placed on the Dodgers' 40-man roster. Ortiz posted an ERA of 2.73, an average against of just .207, and had 72 Ks in 59.1 innings. And ALL of that is great. And, while the "execution" piece is still THE focus, keep in mind, he, in essence, hadn't pitched since 2021, due to Tommy John. Ortiz was a HIGHLY thought of prospect back in 2021, before his Tommy John, and came back to start 2024, but was shut down after just 6 outings and 11 innings in May of 2024. So, for him to be able to post 59.1 innings and have 48 appearances was HUGE in terms of showing that he's BACK. Then, to have the success on top of that, after such a long layoff, just goes to show how good his stuff is. Ortiz features a HUGE sweeping slider that starts well behind the back of a left-hander, and breaks from one side of the earth to the other. Trying to decipher whether that pitch is going to land "in the zone" or not is VERY difficult, even for hitters that have a LOT of MLB experience like he faced at OKC. His fastball is firm, and he can hit 6s and 7s, so those 2 pitches play well off of each other. Welcome aboard, Robinson. It's been a LONG road, one you've navigated successfully. Keep killin' it, my man. #dodgers

I want to correct the narrative and misinformation that people are spreading from this live about “manly” comment. Lot of people are spreading a completely misinterpreted context of this situation. Jimin has NOT argued against being called manly. He “scolded” a fan who called him manly & then immediately laughed afterwards. He said you are not supposed to laugh after calling someone manly because that makes it seem like a joke. He didn’t say to not call him that and it is a completely made up narrative spread by huge number of people. It is shocking how many people never actually watched the full clip and just decided to go with the false “jimin told fan not to call him manly” narrative. His “issue” was fan laughing after saying it to him, not the word itself. Please don’t put words into Jimin’s mouth just so you can project the image you have on him. So many of you love putting him in the box and it is genuinely disrespectful. The both instances many people are using of jimin “arguing” against being called mainly were a joke w a fan/interviewer that people misinterpreted so they can project their own idea on him. Jimin has embraced being both masculine and feminine many times before and doesn’t have issues w either so stop lying on his name. "CAN I EXCHANGE MY FULLY PAID FLAT FOR YOUR RURAL LAND?" A white guy in Manchester, England had a frank discussion with an African immigrant about economic development and empowerment in Africa. The English guy asked my fellow African: 'Do you by any chance own land in Africa?' The brother said yes he owns about 10 hectares in his rural village. "So, why come all the way to England when you have the means of production that can make you very rich?' The African brother started giving excuses: the land is undeveloped; the land has no borehole; that he don't have agricultural equipment to till the land; the government is not supporting rural farmers and many other excuses. The Englishman stood there listening quietly. After 20 minutes of giving all sorts of excuses, my African brother looked up at the quiet Englishman, hoping he understood why he travelled thousands of kilometres to come to England to work in menial jobs! The Englishman ask him "Can I exchange my fully paid flat and give you the title deeds and my 2 cars for your 10 hectares of land in Africa?" The African brother was stunned. He did not understand why a white man with a fully furnished flat and everything, would want to go and farm on a rural undeveloped land. The white guy sat him down and explained: ask any white man, he would gladly develop that land into a highly successful farm. He would grow high value crops eg all types of vegetables, strawberries, start cattle fattening programmes and develop a highly successful farm. The Englishman told him all the wealth is in that piece of land. He can make millions of dollars from that fertile land. The African brother spent days pondering about what his white friend said. After several months of planning and selling all he had in England, my brother came back home and started farming on his 10 hectares of land: putting up a borehole, installing solar energy, started poultry, piggery and cattle fattening and a horticulture project. We should never under-value our rural farms and travel to go work in distant lands. Our future is in developing our rural land and turn it into highly productive farms. Here is Wenceslous Nyamupfukudza, a youth farmer, consultant and agribusiness expert helping all farmers including those developing in rural communities. He developed his rural farm and grows all types of vegetables and keeps cattle. He teaches other rural farmers how to effectively and efficiently use the land for maximum agricultural productivity. A very interesting theory someone brought to Jon Bray's attention is that this van in the parking area where Charlie ends up getting carried to after he is damaged pops the trunk just seconds before the shooting. Apparently acoustic analysis of all sounds at that time support that a real shot was fired from the rooftop area into the back of this van and that possibly a detonation was triggered by the sound. Here is a link to his post about it. You should look at his page and all of the amazing work he has done on this. No one earth has more credibility when it comes to the shaped charge theory. There’s an interview Pep gave during the Club World Cup where he spoke about Pep Lijnders. He said Lijnders “opened his eyes” in a short period of time and that he’s been “drinking knowledge” from him, just as he has with his other brilliant assistants. A lot of people take that at face value or underrate the impact Lijnders has clearly had on Pep. Some around the club didn’t even want him in the building at first. But that impact doesn't hide. You see it in how they interact. It's there in every little shared celebration after a big goal, like they're dialled into the same wavelength. It’s a proper football connection. We should be more grateful to have him.

Sports 🥹🥹 At about the 70 minute mark last night during Palmeiras and Inter Miami, a family of five came into our section. All 3 kids wore Miami colors. According to the parents, they weren’t necessarily the biggest Miami fans — they just loved Messi. The oldest kid, maybe 6/7, was mesmerized by the Palmeiras fans constantly on their feet screaming and chanting. I’m not sure he quite understood what was being said but after a little bit, he decided to join in. By the end of the match, his Miami jersey was off, he was screaming at the top of his lungs and he was high-fiving Palmeiras supporters. And the Brazilian club might have picked up a new fan in the process. After being around sports for long, you sometimes forget its unifying power and what effects it can have on people.
