⚡️ BREAKING: Microsoft employees and other demonstrators with the No Azure for Apartheid movement are currently occupying the office of company president Brad Smith. Workers say they have re-established a “Liberated Zone” inside Microsoft’s executive Building 34, renaming it the Mai Ubeid Building in honor of a Palestinian software engineer killed in an Israeli airstrike. Bloomberg reported earlier today that Microsoft has spent the past year trying to crush employee dissent over its ties to Israel’s war on Gaza — including enlisting the FBI, working with police, and censoring internal posts mentioning “Gaza.” The company has suspended and fired workers who spoke out, while employees have continued to stage disruptions, from mass emails to sit-ins and viral protests. The employee-led movement is protesting Microsoft profiting from and enabling Israel’s atrocities in Palestine through its Azure cloud and AI tools. Despite repression, workers say they won’t stop until Microsoft cuts its ties to Israel’s military. According to the organizers’ statement, today’s action included deploying noisemakers into the atrium, unfurling banners, and delivering a “People’s Court Summons” to Brad Smith. Their demands include: cutting ties with Israel, calling for an end to genocide and forced starvation, reparations for Palestinians, and ending workplace discrimination. Video shows the demonstrators in the Microsoft C-suite reading their statement. Shared on Twitch (link in reply).

NEW: Microsoft Engineer Disrupts Nadella Keynote Over Genocide Complicity Joe Lopez, a member of the No Azure for Apartheid campaign and a firmware engineer in Azure’s hardware division, interrupted CEO Satya Nadella’s Build conference keynote on Monday. In a letter published later, he explains his journey of political awakening and condemns Microsoft for its direct complicity in “ethnic cleansing” and “crimes against humanity.” Lopez said he initially tried to stay informed and take small actions—donating, signing petitions—while continuing his work at Microsoft. But after seeing fellow employees disrupt Microsoft’s 50th anniversary event and learning more about the company’s ties to Israel’s military, he began questioning his role. “Microsoft is killing kids? Is my work killing kids?” he wrote. What followed, he said, was a painful realization that Azure’s infrastructure was actively fueling a U.S.–Israeli “war machine” and the mass killing of Palestinians in Gaza. He pointed to a recent company blog post—Microsoft’s first public response to the employee campaign—as a turning point. In that post, Microsoft defended its operations in Israel, citing an internal audit conducted by the company itself and an unnamed outside firm. The audit cleared Microsoft of wrongdoing, but Lopez called it “meaningless,” especially after the company admitted giving Israel’s Ministry of Defense “special access” to its cloud technologies “beyond the terms of our commercial agreements.” Lopez called out the complicity of top executives—including Mustafa Suleyman, Brad Smith, Kevin Scott, Scott Guthrie, and Satya Nadella—and their refusal to directly address the allegations. Calling on other workers to speak out or leave, he said he could no longer be part of a company helping “level cities and exterminate Palestinians.” “If leadership continues to ignore this demand, it won’t go unnoticed. The world has already woken up to our complicity,” he added.

“Why Dave Smith and the “Anti-War Comics” Can’t Celebrate the End of the War” Watching Dave Smith flail away like a blind hitter going up against prime Pedro is lovely. He can’t admit the end to this war is good because Israel won yet another war THAT THEY DID NOT START… just like EVERY OTHER WAR IN ISRAEL’S HISTORY! Israel winning wars it did not start destroys Dave’s ENTIRE ideology. And this one is the coup de grace. Israel did not start this war. This war started on October 7th—on the holiday of Simchat Torah—with Palestinians committing genocide against Israelis and Israel. There is no better moral justification for engaging in war than responding to an act of genocide committed against your people. Yet, instead of responding in kind, Israel responded with the most moral war anybody has even seen. Ask John Spencer. The civilian to combatant death ratio is the best in history. And that was with Israel playing it on hardcore mode thanks to Yahya Sinwar planning the most diabolical of defenses: Have his terrorists infiltrate every facet of Gaza, utilize hospitals as command centers, use schools from which to shoot rockets, and store weapons caches underneath the bedrooms of children… all while denying Palestinians to use the protective bunkers and tunnel systems—larger than the London Tube system—instead ensuring only his terrorists could live there. Yahya Sinwar’s plan was to sacrifice all of the Palestinians… and Israel refused to comply. Rather, Israel insisted on two demands and never relented: (1) Return ALL hostages and (2) disband the terrorist entity RESPONSIBLE FOR THE GENOCIDE THAT STARTED THE WAR. Dave Smith can’t celebrate that. He can’t celebrate the return of the hostages. He can’t celebrate the end of hostilities… because he’s a sick, deranged, psychotic individual who would rather grasp onto his pathetic dystopian world view like a baby onto a bottle rather than confront the reality of this war. This war could’ve ended on October 8th. But Yahya Sinwar and the Palestinians craved this war. They DEMANDED it… and they got it… and they lost it. And that’s why Dave Smith can’t celebrate the end of this war. What a callous, cold-hearted *achem* comic
