Stanley Kubrick is getting the full Criterion Collection treatment: The Complete Kubrick is a 4k restoration of all Kubrick’s 13 features (all masterpieces in their own right) along with some short films & behind-the-scenes footage of Kubrick. The cost comes in at about $480, which I think is hefty, but I plan on purchasing The Complete Kubrick for multiple reasons, the primary reason being I want to have physical editions of each of Kubrick’s films in my home. Period. Drops October 20th, folks.

I don’t want my 6th rewatch of The Sopranos to end but I can’t avoid it- I’m just about finished. Every time I rewatch this show, I learn or notice something new. Previous rewatches revolved around David Chase or the loaded writer’s room. Even just appreciating the entire cast top to bottom dominated my 4th rewatch. This time around? James Gandolfini is really my biggest takeaway. He was the biggest reason for this show’s success in my opinion, right above Chase. But rewatching his work again, especially as Kevin Finnerty, just baffles me. How did he do this? Where did this come from? So much of this show hinged on the performance of Tony- and Jim nailed it. And the rest is history. It’s my pick for the best television performance ever.

I wish I wasn't, but I am. Probably one of the reasons why my results are good as they are, but I prefer myself not to be. It is a bit of sickness but it works for me" "I compete against, what I would call, the opportunity set. If there was a great opportunity set that year and I missed it, I am disappointed in myself. If I am up 20%, but I think I should have been up 50%, I am disappointed in myself. If the opportunity set was +10-15%, but I am up 20%, then I am thrilled."
