Developmental criminologists have documented an “age-crime curve.” This curve shows a peak in criminal behavior during adolescence and early adulthood, which then declines with age. Notably, younger age remains a significant predictor of crime, even when socioeconomic factors are accounted for. For example, in the United States, a 20...

22 women in Iran’s Evin Prison are being subjected to sexual abuse during brutal body searches. Their open letter exposes the horrors: humiliation, assault, and dehumanization. They risk torture for speaking out. How much longer will the world ignore their screams? @IranIntl_En

Makes sense.......thanks Which made me curious what Grok would list as occupations with the most liars. But of course Grok is not a real expert so we take it with a grain of salt 🙂

A stunning gap: In the U.S., 20-year-old men are roughly ten times more likely to be arrested for a violent crime than 60-year-old men. If you follow the logic that any disparity automatically proves bias, then the only possible explanation would be an extreme age bias in the justice system. But there is a much more straightforward explanation: violent crime, for both men and women, follows what developmental criminologists call the age–crime curve. Crime tends to peak in the late teens and early 20s, and then declines sharply starting in the mid-to-late 20s. You see a version of the same pattern among women as well. A 20-year-old woman is also far more likely to commit a crime than a 60-year-old woman, even though overall rates are much lower for women than for men. The most crime-prone group, by far, is young men, especially those roughly ages 18 to 22. At every age, men are more likely to commit crimes than women of the same age, including into the 60s. Older people in general commit relatively little crime, but even within the 60-plus population, when crime does occur, it is much more likely to be committed by a man than by a woman.

Older adults score higher on the Light Triad personality traits, which encompass 3 factors: First, Faith in Humanity, which reflects the belief that others are generally good and worthy of trust. Second, Kantianism, which denotes the propensity to behave with integrity and honesty. And lastly, Humanism, which involves a genuine appreciation for the successes of others. Older people tend to score higher on these Light Triad traits. Younger adults tend to have lower scores. This distinction was illustrated in a 2021 study which found that older adults were more likely to share positive gossip about other people, while younger adults were more prone to spread negative, reputation-damaging gossip.

Elderly people are considerably more likely to face long waits in A&E than younger patients. A report found that more than a fifth of patients over the age of 80 waited over 12 hours to get a bed on a ward last year.

A baby boy born in the U.S. has an astonishing risk profile. Men are 3 times more likely to die before age 25, 3 times more likely to become addicted to drugs or alcohol, and an incredible 19 times more likely to end up in jail. A man is more than twice as likely as a woman to have a car accident and 3 times more likely to be involved in 2 car accidents. Even when not driving, men are more careless; twice as many men compared with women are killed simply crossing the street. Maleness is by far the biggest risk factor for violence. Men kill men massively more often than women kill women—on average, 26 times more often. These patterns extend beyond the U.S. When data on violent crime are gathered from around the world, the result is utterly clear and amazingly consistent. Crime statistics from Australia, Botswana, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Iceland, India, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria, Scotland, Uganda, and the United Kingdom all exhibit the same basic pattern. In each of these societies, without a single exception, young males are by far the most likely to be the perpetrators as well as the victims of murder. From my talk at the University of Richmond

A study shows that 63.1% of convicted rapists in Sweden have an immigrant background. Men who arrive in Sweden at the age of 15 or older are SIX TIMES more likely than a Swede to be convicted of rape! (Updated with subtitles and proof read. 😉)

What are the odds ? When you’re very being is not based in reality… • Male-to-female (MtF) trans individuals retained a male pattern of criminality. They were ~6.6 times more likely than female controls for any crime (adjusted hazard ratio 6.6) and ~18 times more likely for violent crime. Their rates showed no statistically significant difference from natal males. • Female-to-male (FtM) trans individuals shifted toward a male pattern. They were ~4 times more likely than female controls for any crime and ~7 times for violent crime; no difference from male controls. • Later sub-cohort (1989–2003) had smaller numbers and some non-significant results, but the overall pattern held: transition did not eliminate male-typical offending.

A young black man age 10-43 is 13 times more likely to be murdered than a young white man of the same age, and they aren't being killed by white supremacists! We won't solve this issue until we tackle the root problem; the epidemic of fatherlessness in the black community.

Young adults who leave care are four times more likely to die between the ages of 18 and 24 than the general population, according to a new report. Those exiting care are left “with no safety net and with catastrophic consequences”, the government-commissioned report concluded, and often lose "significant levers of support" as they exit the system at 18. There were 112 deaths notified of care leavers aged 18 to 24 in 2025, which the review said equated to an estimated death rate of approximately 130 deaths per 100,000 care leavers

1% of the population is responsible for more than 60% of violent crime. And a disproportionate share of that 1% happens to come from marginalized or dispossessed groups. And because of this the logic some people seem to think well, we just shouldn’t enforce laws anymore. But the problem is, criminals usually victimize people around them. And the people they’re victimizing also tend to be disproportionately poor, disproportionately marginalized, disproportionately from deprived backgrounds too. Compared to Americans who earn more than $75,000 a year, the lowest-income Americans are 7 times more likely to be victims of aggravated assault, 7 times more likely to be victims of robbery, and 20 times more likely to be victims of sexual assault and homicide. Virtually every crime you can think of — the poor are the most likely to be victimized by it. And what gets lost is that poor people are much more likely to be victimized by crime than to be perpetrators of crime. But we focus so much of the attention on the perpetrators — and how they come from marginalized and deprived backgrounds — and we just don’t think nearly as much about the victims. What happens to them. What their lives look like afterward. And I think that’s a shame. I mean, if there’s a criminal who commits an act, we should spend more time thinking about how to help the victim than the perpetrator. From my conversation with Garry Tan

An older man attempts to defend his store from a black man who’s stealing an entire box of KitKat bars He’s forces to use a piece of metal and tell the man to “leave it” and he refuses. He still tries to steal all the KitKat bars Based on statistics a black man in America is 6x more likely to rob a convenience store than a white man. He’s 4x more likely to rob a convenience store than a Mexican and 20x more likely than an Asian We have to do better in America

The biggest enemy of working-class females are white, middle-class women. This is Dr Ellie Chowns MP, Green MP for North Herefordshire. "There is no credible evidence that people seeking asylum are more likely to commit crimes than the average member of the population." Eg Afghans are 22x more likely to be a rapist & a man from the Congo 12x more likely to have a criminal conviction. Ladies & gentlemen, graphs & evidence at the ready in the comments.

The older the parents are, the kids are more likely to be messed up. I believe a huge psyop that was intentionally created to justify having kids at older ages is that older people have more “wisdom” and life perspective I believe this is only true if they are in their final years Other than that, most 40-60 year olds suck and make horrible parental figures The best advice as a kid I ever received came from people in their 20s These people are way more understanding of life struggles and have a better ability to be a better parent

Older adults need twice as much protein per meal as younger adults to get the same amount of muscle protein synthesis. That's because muscles become less sensitive to amino acids in response to protein intake, a phenomenon known as anabolic resistance. Most people think this is due to aging, but physical inactivity is the real culprit. People are less active as they get older. Only about 30% of young adults and just 20% of older adults regularly engage in some form of resistance training. Older adults who stay physically active or who engage in resistance exercise right before consuming protein don't experience anabolic resistance. Their anabolic response is identical to that of younger adults. How do I interpret this? If you're older, you might need a higher daily and per-meal protein dose (30–40 grams versus 20–30 grams for someone younger) to maximize muscle protein synthesis and increase or maintain muscle mass. But it also means that staying physically active and strength training often is the key to preventing "age-related" anabolic resistance. It's not inevitable.

Young care leavers in England are dying at a much higher rate than other people their age due to isolation and a severe drop off in support from social services once they turn 18. That’s the conclusion of a government-commissioned review, which called it a ‘national tragedy.’ The estimated death rate among care leavers aged between 18 and 14 is about three to four times higher than that in the general population for this age group.

Let’s talk about Germany! “In Germany, there are 39,000 Japanese citizens who live in the country, and in one year they committed just two violent crimes. Not 200, not 2,000, just two. Now, compare that to the 25,000 Algerians who live in Germany. In that same year, they committed more than 1,700 violent crimes. This means that an Algerian living in Germany is more than 1,300 times more likely to commit a violent crime than a Japanese migrant. I'll say it again, but not all migration is equal.”
