In Kerala's Kollam, a major tragedy was averted after a speeding bus lost control and overturned near Chittar when its front tyre suddenly detached while the vehicle was in motion. The accident occurred while the bus was travelling from Madathara to Anchal. According to reports, the technical failure took place as the bus was negotiating a turn near Chittar. Officials said the driver’s presence of mind helped prevent a far more serious disaster. Despite the impact, all passengers survived the mishap. Several passengers sustained minor injuries in the accident and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. No fatalities were reported. Authorities are expected to investigate the cause of the mechanical failure that led to the accident.

Meet Meharaj and his nephew, who saved 30 lives when the bus caught fire. Three people were killed after a private bus collided with a lorry and caught fire here in Nandyal district on Thursday. The bus carrying 36 passengers was heading to Hyderabad when the accident occurred around 1.40 am near Sirivella Metta in Nandyal district.
